I have been having gaps in my incoming Zooms for a long time. But the problems with this international Zoom could have been caused by the recent loss of 40 satellites by Starfire or by the storm which struck England with high winds at about the time of the concert.

The best-laid plans of mice and presenters gang aft agley.

My pleasure, MoorleyMan!

Thanks, Joe- Just to mention the spelling of Martyn's full name- a "d" went Walkabout.

I wanted to make sure I spelled it right, so I copy-pasted from Janie & Rob's Website - where it was spelled wrong two different ways.

Thanks Maeve.
I just watched it through using that link.
For the record, Joe - to add to your above list - Martyn's final two songs (following Old Whitby Harbour) were My Eldorado by Graeme Miles and One Small Star by Eric Bogle.
Martyn is MAGIC!

It seems to be rescheduled for tonight. They had trouble getting the file from Martyn due to the weather. They have it now. I'll try to find an exact schedule.

I didn't see this thread until partway through the evening, after the computer problems had arisen, and at that time not even the first part of the concert seemed to be available. I therefore hope they can make all of it available and will be happy to chuck in a few bob.

I wasn't familiar with the Lawson poem, Genoa. It's not in Chris Kempster's book, Songs of Henry Lawson, so I guess no one had set it to music before. It's in Poetical Works, but not with all the verses at the link Joe gave.

Janie says they are still exploring ways to make the whole concert available. Martyn recorded it at his home, so there is a complete recording of the concert. We heard almost all of it, and it was terrific. I'm sure Rob will figure out a way to make this work.

Email from Janie -
    we're done, sez Rob

We don't know what happened with the broadcast---the computer has never crashed before. Rob would get it back up and then it would just crash again. I think he finally had me on screen long enough to let people know they weren't crazy before it crashed again. And then long enough to say goodnight.

We got 45 minutes into the show, at least. And there were plenty of viewers.

I think the gods are trying to tell us something. We'll see if we can set things to rights before the week is out, and at least be able to post the video for folks who missed it from the get-go and folks who want to see the ending.

We're not ending this day very well.
I'll let you know if Rob and Janie are able to make the rest of the concert available online. It sure was good as far as I heard. Thanks, Rob, and Janie, and Martyn.

They say they can get Martyn's show up again, asking us to "sit tight".

Rob and Janie's computer crashed in the middle of "Old Whitby Harbour" - I hope they get it up again.

Falcon House Concerts hosts a concert by Martyn Wyndham-Read TODAY, February 19, at 8 PM London time. That's noon in Los Angeles and 3 PM in New York.

Information is at https://falconaudiovisualarts.co.uk/page-11/page-6/

As per usual with house concerts, these performances are free and open to all who can get within eyeball distance of a computer screen. But, as per usual with house concerts, we hope our viewers will support the performers by chucking a few bucks, quid, dollars, euros into the proverbial tip jar. These donations can be made in any denomination/currency via paypal.me/tulip0852 or Paypal to tulip0852@gmail.com. During the concert, the PayPal account information will periodically be displayed on screen. Donations are gladly accepted up to a week after the concert date. Falcon Audio Visual Arts will disperse the money collected: 80% to the artists or their designated beneficiaries; 20% to Falcon Audio Visual Arts Studio for overhead expenses

To tune into the livestream event, go to https://www.youtube.com/user/Tulip0852/live. This will automatically take you to the Falcon House Concert “stage,” when the stream is 'live', where you can catch a few minutes of pre-show entertainment and adjust your settings accordingly. If you are unable to catch the live broadcast (because of time zone challenges), you will be able to watch it at your convenience on YouTube for a week. After that, the videos will be available through the Falcon House Concert Archive.
