Subject: RE: Help: County Cork in October From: GUEST,Antóin Date: 07 Aug 00 - 06:03 PM Cork City is a bit distant from the Beara Peninsula, but if you are passing through, try the Corner House Bar in Coburg Street. They have a very good blue-grass session there once a week (sorry, can't remember which night, regular trad sessions other week nights. The Spailpín Fánach in South Main Street is another good bar for sessions. Enjoy you visit. |

Subject: County Cork in October From: Downeast Bob Date: 06 Aug 00 - 03:35 PM I'm a 5-string banjo picker (old time Appalachian styles and traditional American songs mostly) who will be in County Cork, Ireland from mid-October through the first week of November. Home base while we're there will be the Beara peninsula. Can anybody recommend any pubs in that vicinity where visitors might be able to jam or swap songs with the locals? Bob Baldwin |
