Mick, Ivan thanked you for putting him on to Brian Nolan (?) and his music. He sang at least two songs that he had learned from you. One was about Irish immigrants dying in an isolation "hospital" in Canada. I recently read a book called "The Great Hunger" which documented in dry historian terms and graphic detail the sufferings of those who left and those who stayed during the potato famine. His song brought me to tears. Where were you???

Just to assure everyone, yes, IvanB knows when his concert's scheduled :-)

I'll be doing a mixture of traditional, neo-traditional and Stephen Foster songs (although Not as many as Mary would like, I'm sure). I'll also be doing Mudcatter Jeri's 'My Mother's Garden,' which she wrote in response to a post from bet about her mother.

For UK'ers or others who can't make it Thursday night, I'll be doing a partial dress rehearsal on Thursday afternoon at 4:00 p.m. Mudcat time (I believe that's 9:00 p.m. GMT). I won't be doing all the songs from the concert, but a few of them, and anybody who shows up will probably be pressed into service checking sound levels, etc. Hope to see a good group of you at one time or another.

Remember, the Mudcat Concert Room is password protected. The password to enter the room is 'marmot'. Also, you must have 'Show Adult Groups' checked at the bottom of the Group list in order to see the concert room.

I've never had that pleasure Mick but I certainly agree that he is good, as are so many others who give these concerts... I reckon there are quite a few out there that could and prehaps should make CDs...listen in folks there is a tremendous amount of tallent around!

And yes, he's bigger than me, but he can't catch me. He can, however, take my instruments to work on them, and keep them indefinitely...but that gives me an exuse to buy more.....

This week's CatConcert, which is the first of the spring concert season, will feature IvanB. The concert will commence at 8:00PM EST, and will be held in the Mudcat Concert Room on PalTalk, which will be opened around 7:30. To reach the concert room, you will need to check the "show adult groups" box and enter the password, which is "marmot". I hope to see many of you there.
