Subject: RE: Fred McDowell Fans? From: Bobert Date: 02 Apr 06 - 08:13 AM Never saw him and never had any lessons off him but he and Son House are my two favorite bluesmen... Everyone else falls somewhere beneath those two in my admiration... (BTW, if you haven't done so allready, you can go to CD Baby (Sidewalk Bob) and hear a little of my version of Fred's "61 Highway"...) Nevermind... Now back to the Mississippi Fred McDowell... Subject: RE: Fred McDowell Fans? From: Elwooddelta Date: 13 Oct 97 - 09:03 PM Thanks dw.. I'll look into the video. My ideal is to find somebody at a blues festival somewhere that saw him, played with him, etc.. I've gotten some good stuff from taping PBS. Videos and CDs are good stand ins until I get connected. |
