Subject: RE: You Know My Name From: mooman Date: 23 Aug 01 - 12:15 PM Perla Batalla is a very excellent US/Mexican singer living I think now in Los Angeles. I have an album of hers. She used to be a principal backing singer for Leonard Cohen and then for K D Lang before launching out on her own. There is a website for her here. I hope this contributes a little to the story. Best regards mooman |

Subject: RE: You Know My Name From: Kim C Date: 23 Aug 01 - 09:50 AM Is it a Western? What's it about? Not having cable, and thus no access to TNT, I have never heard of it. |
Subject: RE: You Know My Name From: katlaughing Date: 23 Aug 01 - 12:14 AM It says it is based on a true story and even is labelled as a bio. Anyway at the TNT site for this movie, they only thing I could find was the music was by Lawrence Shragge and they had a Perla Batalla listed in the character credits as the "singer." Hope that helps. You could also send TNT an email. Sorry I didn't copy the site addy, but if you type in the video title in google, the TNT one is the first to come up. kat |
Subject: RE: You Know My Name From: Uncle_DaveO Date: 22 Aug 01 - 09:38 PM Fine movie. Rented it last week. Besides the virtues of the story and the acting, the photography is wonderful. The visual appeal is something else. No, I don't know anything about the musicians who were so tantalizingly cut short. Dave Oesterreich |

Subject: You Know My Name From: Lee Shore Date: 22 Aug 01 - 03:40 AM Just rented movie called "You Know My Name" starring Sam Elliot. The story itself was middlin' good, but there was a jug band in one scene that was flat wonderful. Anybody out there know who that band was? |
