Subject: RE: Lyr Req: Willie McCrea (Sean Mone) From: Jim Dixon Date: 14 Dec 11 - 09:36 AM You can hear Sean Mone (I think) sing WILLIE McCREA at a pub session at You Tube. On the other hand, if you'd rather hear William McCrea himself sing AMAZING GRACE and THE OLD RUGGED CROSS, YouTube has that, too. It's easy to see which group is having more fun. |
Subject: RE: Sean Moan_I think? From: MartinRyan Date: 07 Mar 02 - 02:42 PM Fintan sings it alright! That's Fintan of "The Companion to Irish Traditional Music" and no mean songwriter and flute-player himself! Regards |
Subject: RE: Sean Moan_I think? From: Sorcha Date: 07 Mar 02 - 12:09 PM Google says it's Mone; from Keady Co, Armagh and the title is Wille McRea. Looks like somebody named Fintan Vallely has "collected" it, but I couldn't figure out if it was a book, album, or what ever. Didn't find lyrics. |

Subject: Sean Moan_I think? From: GUEST,chanter Date: 07 Mar 02 - 08:24 AM Can anyone help? I was at a singing weekend in Country Tyrone a couple of years ago. I went with a friend and didnt know most of the singers. I heard a man sing a song I think he had written himself, about the Rev. Willie McCrea. It ws one of the funniest songs I've ever heard! It wasnt rude or anything like that but took the P**s out of the Rev. I think the singers name was Sean Moan (or Home) I'm not sure. Has anyone heard this song, is it on CD or tape! or can anyone tell me if I have the right singer. Sorry, not much to go on, but I hope someone can help. |
