Subject: RE: Pink Anderson From: Joe Offer Date: 27 May 08 - 02:59 PM Hi, Wesley- I just downloaded four terrific Pink Anderson albums from emusic.com. You can also download them at Amazon. The three-disc set from Fantasy Records is especially good, and includes most of the songs that are on the Folkways album (but you may want to download the Folkways notes for free from from Smithsonian Global Sound). This is wonderful music. It surprises me that it's not available on CD (Fantasy may have done better to fill one CD completely, rather than to have three CD that are half-full). Still, it's nice to have the recordings available by download. I have an annual subscription at emusic.com, so I get recordings for about 20 cents a song. No album notes except for the Folkways albums, but it's a wonderful thing. -Joe- |
Subject: RE: Pink Anderson From: Wesley S Date: 27 May 08 - 01:52 PM It sure would be nice to find a Pink Anderson CD readily available. So where does someone find his CD's for sale? |

Subject: RE: Pink Anderson From: Hollowfox Date: 22 Apr 02 - 01:10 PM Good job! I see the site has a link to Roy Book Binder, so I assume you've checked to see if he has anything to add. (But for Mr. B Binder, there'd be a lot fewer of us that had ever heard of Mr. Anderson.) |
Subject: RE: Pink Anderson From: GUEST,greg stephens Date: 22 Apr 02 - 01:01 PM It's not everyday i get the chance to tell a name-dropping story that presents me in a flattering light ; so I must tell you that Spider John Koerner once said I played just like Pink Anderson. Who I'd never heard of at the time. |
