Subject: RUNSWICK BAY RESCUE BOAT From: Raggytash Date: 28 Jan 03 - 01:49 PM Runswick Bay, just to the North of Whitby (East Yorkshire, England) has an inshore Rescue Boat that is not sponsored by the RNLI. Each year we try and raise funds for it's up keep by having a folk day in Huddersfield. This year we will be gathering at "The Wheel" in Golcar on Saurday the 15th of March. There will be two sessions one from 2ish till 5ish on Saturday afternoon the other from 7ish till the Landlady has had enough of us. on Saturday evening. The Landlady (Brenda) has very kindly let us use the room free of charge and the sessions are free and easy similar in format to the front room in the Plough during Whitby Folk Week. Everyone is invited to join us to help raise funds for the wonderful Rescue Boat normally by raffles or passing a pot round but sometimes by turning people upside down and shaking them till their pockets are empty. Please let me know if you would like to join us so I can give the Landlady some ideas of numbers so she can arrange bar staff. Thanks Raggytash |
