Subject: RE: Sir Roger and The Deanmeister pair up From: GUEST,Raggytash Date: 08 Apr 04 - 05:01 AM Sir Roger, just a word to the wise with pairing up with said person, are you aware that his sexuality and personal leanings are ebing called into question on other threads, I shouldn't like you to get a nasty shock one night back stage as it were. An anagram of his mudcat name is tried seamen ! |
Subject: RE: Sir Roger and The Deanmeister pair up From: Sir Roger de Beverley Date: 08 Apr 04 - 03:30 AM The landlord is keen for us to go back there soon but we are trying not to appear too keen. However, look out for another P&R gig at the Sun in about 6 - 8 weeks from now. Rog |
Subject: RE: Sir Roger and The Deanmeister pair up From: Sir Roger de Beverley Date: 06 Apr 04 - 05:19 AM The way the electric one went out of tune mid-song when the string broke was the most spectactular, though. Rog ps For those that don't know, our backing singers were Hissyfit - and they did a spot on their own in the break |
Subject: RE: Sir Roger and The Deanmeister pair up From: The DeanMeister Date: 05 Apr 04 - 10:58 AM I am vindicated. |

Subject: RE: Sir Roger and The Deanmeister pair up From: The DeanMeister Date: 05 Apr 04 - 10:40 AM Glad you enjoyed it as much as I did, Rog. Anytime you fancy, mate. That was serious fun. And Mick, I broke one on each. Does that make it any more acceptable? |
Subject: RE: Sir Roger and The Deanmeister pair up From: ossonflags Date: 05 Apr 04 - 10:35 AM Sorry to have missed it lads, but it was the early call. Only the one string Deany? Your slipping lad !!! |
Subject: RE: Sir Roger and The Deanmeister pair up From: Sir Roger de Beverley Date: 05 Apr 04 - 07:51 AM The Strat was great - even if he did manage to break a string!! How do you do that on an electric guitar? It was an excellent evening all round and it got even better when I found the loose lead on the backing singers mike and they could finally be heard. I'd have paid to play, it was that much fun R |
Subject: RE: Sir Roger and The Deanmeister pair up From: The DeanMeister Date: 05 Apr 04 - 06:19 AM Michael, we had an absolutely wonderful evening. The audience was cuddly and nice, it felt like we were having a party, not a gig! Hazel and Linda sang a bit with us, Clive played the spoons, the Strat was unveiled, much to Sir Roger's iniial dismay... It was a great evening. Many thanks to all who supported us. We must do that again sometime! Pete. |

Subject: RE: Sir Roger and The Deanmeister pair up From: Sir Roger de Beverley Date: 04 Apr 04 - 04:33 AM Pete Uncle Dave Macon was the source (via the New lost City Ramblers) of many of those bluegrass/old timey things I do on the mandolin. You'll remember on the night I'm sure R |

Subject: RE: Sir Roger and The Deanmeister pair up From: Sir Roger de Beverley Date: 02 Apr 04 - 07:54 AM Just a reminder - it is this Sunday evening. We had a "rehearsal" on Wednesday and so far the songs are set to include numbers by, amongst others, The Who, Joe Jackson, Paul Simon, Bob Dylan, Tom Paxton, Uncle Dave Macon, Buddy Holly, Del Amitri, Robbie Williams, Coldplay, Elton John and Trad. Subject: RE: Sir Roger and The Deanmeister pair up From: GUEST Date: 24 Mar 04 - 09:24 AM lone shark, but WHY would he want to insult his friends in such a vile way ? |
Subject: RE: Sir Roger and The Deanmeister pair up From: lone shark Date: 24 Mar 04 - 09:14 AM GUEST, the troll has to be ossonflags. The line dancing thread was hit by ivor on five consecutive days. That is a lot of " colleague" infiltration. Too much to be believed I feel. |

Subject: RE: Sir Roger and The Deanmeister pair up From: Oaklet Date: 23 Mar 04 - 11:08 AM The deleted thread "Oaklet is not Ivor Biggun" contained an explanation and apology from Ossonflags. He suspects that he forgot to log-off at his work computer and his details were accessed by someone with time on his hands and little in his head. Mick has promised an enquiry tomorrow and expressed his regret. The opening post in the thread was vile and reptilian. I asked it to be deleted. Thanks for removing it with such speed, elves. |

Subject: RE: Sir Roger and The Deanmeister pair up From: Sir Roger de Beverley Date: 23 Mar 04 - 10:42 AM Of course Ivor is right- this is self promotion. However, when two mudcat members get together to perform a free acoustic gig it is reasonable to suppose that it might be of interest to other Mudcatters and their friends. It is also reasonable, when a local licensee pays to put on said free gig, to give it all the publicity we can in the hope of filling his pub and encouraging him to do similar things in the future. Also, every time Ivor posts to this thread it goes back up to the top of the list - lets hear from you again my friend. :-)) |

The Sun Inn will definately be on my list of places not to visit. |

Subject: RE: Sir Roger and The Deanmeister pair up From: Oaklet Date: 19 Mar 04 - 08:24 PM In another thread, a wise man wrote: "So many guests here, showing such concern. What guest fun I had until I was shown how easily traceable my true ID is". Maybe the small handful of users of comedy guest handles will become as bored of this as they are boring. True; I could have logged-off and written Hugh Janus, Hugh Jampton, Ivor Biggin, Dick Head or something else rib-ticklingly hilarious in the "from" box, but I really couldn't be arsed. I am told that the adoption of an amusing nom-de-plume on internet forums becomes less interesting after the onset of puberty. I live in hope. |
Subject: RE: Sir Roger and The Deanmeister pair up From: GUEST,D.S. Lewis Date: 19 Mar 04 - 11:48 AM Oaklet? Surely not. You've been on the Gnat's Widget again, haven't you, sir? |

Subject: RE: Sir Roger and The Deanmeister pair up From: Oaklet Date: 19 Mar 04 - 10:33 AM That's better. In case this mix-up happens again, remember that ivor's imposter tends not to put a space after his sentences. |
Subject: RE: Sir Roger and The Deanmeister pair up From: GUEST,The real ivor bigginin Date: 19 Mar 04 - 10:25 AM I am sorry Mr.Dean, there is an imposter out there trading under my name.I hope my comments, although a little pithy, are never directly insulting to people. This will be on the same day as the "First Sunday of the month" session at the Monk's Walk just across the road so we expect to see lots of played out folkies turn up around 9pm to watch us strut our stuff. Those that have seen us play separately and together will know that we both have a very wide range of styles in our repertoire so expect to hear material from Trad to Travis, Buddy Holly to Joe Jackson, Bluegrass to Busted, Oakley to Oasis etc etc R |
