Subject: RE: Daft lyrics in C&W songs From: GUEST,leeneia Date: 13 Aug 04 - 10:09 AM Most of the lines quoted here are parodies of CW, not genuine stuff. Perhaps not the worst of the genuine, but one that's memorable was All my arms keep reaching for you [how many has he got?] my eyes keep searching for you My lips keep calling for you and my shoes keep walking back to you. Every time I heard it, I pictured empty wingtips trudging clumsily down a sidewalk. |

Subject: RE: Daft lyrics in C&W songs From: Splott Man Date: 13 Aug 04 - 07:56 AM Sorry Muppett, it came over a bit strong. I like "... take your tongue outta my mouth while I'm kissing you goodbye..." On the folk side there's "...if it weren't for the alligators, I'd sleep out in the woods..." Splott man |
Subject: RE: Daft lyrics in C&W songs From: GUEST,MC Fat Date: 13 Aug 04 - 06:46 AM I still like 'Your the reason our kids are ugly' |
Subject: RE: Daft lyrics in C&W songs From: Dave the Gnome Date: 13 Aug 04 - 06:42 AM I'd much rather have them sensible traditional folk lyrics like "They took my Willy from me" or "Your pretty little hands couldn't handle our tackle" or even "Whack fol a didle di a turum di..." Cheers DtG (Favourite country line? "It's been lonesome in the saddle since my horse dropped dead) |

Subject: RE: Daft lyrics in C&W songs From: Splott Man Date: 13 Aug 04 - 06:17 AM Don't knock it just cos it ain't to your taste. There's a lot of wit and yes, irony, in country music. |
Subject: RE: Daft lyrics in C&W songs From: GUEST,Woodchip Date: 13 Aug 04 - 05:23 AM While driving to a folk club Wed night I was listening to the Country show just minutes before Mike Harding's folk prog was due to start. The hookline for the last song played went...(summat like)... 'It's hard to kiss the the lips at night That chew your ass all day' Hmmmm - now I remember why I shouldn't switch on till bang on eight o'clock. |
Subject: RE: Daft lyrics in C&W songs From: GUEST,Stephen Date: 13 Aug 04 - 05:13 AM muppett - I've often reflected on how dumb that line is myself! :) |
Subject: RE: Daft lyrics in C&W songs From: Dave Hanson Date: 13 Aug 04 - 05:06 AM The hit C/W song ' This Kiss ' had a line, ' It's centrifugal motion ' pronounced, sen triff a gal, to fit in with the rhyme. Like most C/W songs pure unadulterated crap. eric |
