Subject: RE: Ingleton Folk W/end- Who's Going? From: GUEST,Noddy Date: 05 Oct 05 - 05:00 AM Went to the comic song comp at the Old Hill. GREAT FUN. Still recovering from acheing sides. The session that followed was great we left gone 6.00pm for a long drive home northward. Who were those two young lads singing together? They were superb. The lovely lass on her own complimented them with her angelic voice. Don't know her name either but she did a couple of songs in the comp really liked the one about the Cheshire ladies. |
Subject: RE: Ingleton Folk W/end- Who's Going? From: HipflaskAndy Date: 05 Oct 05 - 03:50 AM Hi Moor-Man - surprised you couldn't hear it from there! ne'er mind, next time eh? Smoke, yep, it's a real problem in some places. Thankfully we were in the fresh air that aft. I was a bit nervous about going back into a pub again that day. Earlier, just after a limbering-up liquid lunch, Steve and I left a town centre pub to go and set up. I was MOST surprised to be set upon by a large black dog! A Rotweiller? (sp?). Somewhat shaken, I was off down the street (displaying a large yellow streak down my back) at a right old rate of knots! I'm just VERY glad it got more of the heel of my trainer than my actual foot! Dangerous things these pubs! Didn't prevent me bouncing around onstage as normal tho'. What an old stager! Cheers - HFA |

Subject: RE: Ingleton Folk W/end- Who's Going? From: MoorleyMan Date: 04 Oct 05 - 11:19 AM Now I know why/how I missed your "gig" HFA - I stumbled out of the Old Hill around a quarter to four, still reeling from the effects of the smoke in there (but it was a good sing), and drove down to the YHA.... but nowt happenin' - imagine my confusion. So the headache got the better of me. Shame cos I missed out on the Comic session the next day. Still as you said Migginz, there's always next year. Great to see old mates again though, and special hugs to Gillie. |
Subject: RE: Ingleton Folk W/end- Who's Going? From: HipflaskAndy Date: 04 Oct 05 - 10:31 AM Thanks Gillie. Glad it sounded good to you. The weather forecast prompted the organisers to move our spot from the rather boggy YHA garden up to the main street and start about an hour early! we ended up blessed with sunshine for nearly the whole spot. We did a good two hours on the back of that open wagon - a proper 'gig' in the old sense of the word! Hearty thanks to those that stayed the duration, to the organisers and all that watched a while and applauded - you made it a great day out for us in the band. Cheers! HFA |

It was a nice end to a good days dancing and getting wet on the inside and out. Capped the weekend off with a stomp up Ingleborough but got back to the Hill too late to squeeze in for the comedy session which was a shame. Never mind theres always next year???? |
