Subject: RE: Lyr Req: Plenty of lakes in Fermanagh From: Brakn Date: 12 Jan 06 - 04:56 AM The chorus carries on..... On the day they got wed, Sure the preacher he said Do you take to love and to honour, I'd swim every lake, Owney said for her sake There's plenty of lakes in Fermanagh I think toenails is after a parody. I'd be interested myself. |
Subject: RE: Lyr Req: Plenty of lakes in Fermanagh From: Jim Dixon Date: 11 Jan 06 - 11:30 PM Brakn seems to be on the right track. Declan Nerney sings ANNA FROM FERMANAGH on his album "Going Round & Round." He wrote it with his frequent collaborator, Henry McMahon. Here's an excerpt transcribed from the sound file at Declan Nerney's web site: When he heard she'd got wed, the matchmaker said: "Sure there's lots of fine girls in Fermanagh." Owney loves Anna from the county Fermanagh, And sure Anna loves Owney as well. As they drove up and down, doin' laps round the town, They were madly in love, you could tell. On the day they got wed,.... |
