Donuel, get you receive the ID yet? I think I am the one you were referring to. While I don't think I am a "troll" as you describe it,
when you do get the ID, contact the site and we will be sure you get the name of our Legal firm.

Bill, Thats right. The IP alone will not effect the encyrption code between the user and server but will allow name id.

What most annymous trolls do not realize if they are FAR MORE subject to internet defamation lawsuits and other internet related civil suits than people who use or reveal their true names.

DeLay has taken it upon himself to be a Christian Martyr and Poster Boy (see mug shot) who was persecuted by anti God squads.

The Persecution of Christian Victims Convention was held in the Omni Hotel Grand Ballroom - I KID YOU NOT.

They have resurected Phyliss Schaffly to head up this inquisition commitee. Of course Falwell has his finger in this pie too.

btw
McCain will be speaking at Falwell's shindig this week and Falwell said that John will have to eat some crow for calling Falwell followers extremist and intolerent.

I can't make this stuff up.

I'm one of those who figured that if Bush was leakin' about Iraq's weapons of mass destruction he probably really hated Wilson for stating that Iraq did not buy yellow cake uranium. Thus, it is not a great leap to believe that it was also Bush who leaked the name of Wilson's wife, Plame.

True enough, we haven't even got to Plame, yet. Libby is just starting to spill the beans. Its just obvious, thats all.

If Bush didn't out Plame, who did?

*grin*...don't hold your breath, Donuel...

(about 10 years ago, I chatted for a time in a forum which displayed IP addresses right beside the name of the poster...it prevented using someone else's name, and allowed at least a simple way to tell folks apart without divulging any exact names...except when they changed computers. Still, you could keep a little list.

I still halfway think it's not a bad idea.

Who is gonna pardon Bush?
That is a profound question.
The shadow government has several options. Make W a martyr or get someone to assume a lifetime burden like Gerald Ford.
I bet Danny Quail would love the job but its Dick Cheney who is in line.

If Libby's defence insists they must have documents to defend him that the administration refuses to release on national security grounds, then the charges get dropped. Right?

And Guest, I think we all understand that Libby did not say Bush authorized the release of Plame's name.

there is mild speculation that Bush could just pardon Libby..before OR after trial. He certainly has the legal authority, just as he has to declassify documents in order to make them 'safely' leakable.

All I'm saying is, it's not over till it's over. I think this one's got a lot more innings left in it before it's finished, and enough twists and turns to keep you dizzy until long after the next election cycle.

I do have some suspicions about some possible reasons Fitzgerald's office might like to see people get all worked up about this one though. If he can make it hot enough for Bush and Cheney with this leak, he might be able to pit Bush and Cheney against Libby. Now, that would be some fireworks worth seeing.

Does it really matter exactly which bits of classified information were leaked, and which bits Bush may have authorized to be leaked? The information released was from the (classified at the time) N.I.E. which did contain Plame's name (along with other classified stuff). Without Bush himself to clear this up for us, I'm not sure debate over which bits he authorized will illuminate much.

In the construction trades once a leak starts it won't stop & if left to itself it's starts leaking all over. When that happens you gotta toss out the damage & start fresh even if the boss said it was ment to leak. You may say that this ain't construction. Well you got that right when the boss f@%#ks up he get fired, in construction. In government they let him keep pissing on the people.

Before some people can understand a play on words they would have to have had experience playing with words. If they have not have to have had experience they may not ever have had any.
Let me recommend watching the Daily Show to sharpen your wordly palette.
Then again some still won't get it.
Like Joe said, it depends.

His overall testimony is a part of the investigation, but the specific testimonly about Bush authorizing the leak, and the specific leak in question, are not about Plame's CIA status, but about the "sensitive classified intelligence information".

However, the wording in katlaughing's 07 Apr 06 - 02:36 PM post is exactly the kind of potentially misleading stuff I'm talking about.

Libby's testimony is part of an investigation into the disclosure of CIA officer Valerie Plame's identity. Plame is Wilson's wife. Wilson accused the administration in 2003 of exaggerating Iraq's nuclear threat to justify toppling Saddam Hussein.

Libby is scheduled to go on trial next year on charges of lying to investigators and the grand jury in connection with the disclosure of Plame's identity.

Some of the articles I read are composed in such a way as to create the possibility of misconstruing what is being communicated, Guest,07 Apr 06 - 01:41 PM. And I don't think that was done by accident.

There doesn't have to be a new "team". There only needs to be a new pres. and vice pres. The cabinet and other staff can remain the same. Plus, the vice pres. can become the pres., so that member of the team can also remain.

CarolC, I did not see in any major print media any info that talked about the CIA/Plame leak. Only this thread and one other on this board. Correct?

We know there will be a new 'team' in the WHite House - law forbids otherwise every 8 years. I still wonder why all the hype about the approval ratings for GWB. He is not contemplating running for another term and could basically care less about the ratings.

Besides, this talk of others in the same party, Dem or Repub, being overly concerned about their Leaders rating has never amounted to much.

Saw an interview with John Dean (of Nixon's Watergate fame) who thought that Bush's rationale for his 'right to leak' was very curious indeed!

It is essentially a circular, self-justifying bit of rhetoric allowing him to classify or leak anything he wants for his own convenience.

Another striking cartoon image, and suitable for family viewing! I really wasn't sure what you might have come up with to graphically represent "leaking on yourself."

I think the story is gaining momentum, and covering up such a story as was obviously done is certainly an indictable offense.

I think they were getting their impressions from the major news media outlets, Guest, 07 Apr 06 - 12:30 PM (although I could be wrong about that).

But I don't consider that an indication of whether or not the media is "left" or "right" wing. I consider it an indication that the people who pull the strings of power behind the scenes have determined that the Bush team has lived out his useful life, and that they can push the next agendas they're planning (war with Iran, for instance) more easily with a new "face" (and team) in the White House.

Libby's testimony has nothing to do with the Plame leak. It's only the sensitive classified information about Iraq that Libby testified Cheney told him Bush authorized him to leak (convoluted, innit?). Libby has not testified (nor indicated as far as we know at this time) that either Bush or Cheney authorized him to leak Plame's CIA status.

Sorry.

If it was legal (as they claim -- because the President has the power to do whatever the hell he wants in time of "war"), why was Bush's initial reaction "If anyone in my administration was involved, they will no longer be in my administration". The "it was legal" argument only comes up when he gets busted. Interesting, yes?

Now, imagine for a moment the right wing hysteria if Clinton tapped domestic phone calls, leaked classified information, discussed painting US planes in UN colors, etc.

But with a Republican Congress, and roughly 40% of the US population willing to support Bush even if he loads a truckful of puppies with a pitchfork (whose line was that? I love it), this will all be excused. Political party loyalty is far more important that principles these days. And we compalin about the Sunnis, Shiites and Kurds being "tribal".
