Hecho

(in a rambling and sometimes incoherent manner, I fear. As night turns to morning, my verbosity increases and my self-editing fails.)

Couldn't be arsed to do it, but I am keeping the pen anyway.
No, seriously, did it last week - doddle.
Like others, I'd be keen to see the results.
We can then debate them in a separate thread, spiced with the usual abusive judgmental comments towards each other. Or preferably without them.

I did it, but like others I was a bit perplexed about comparing this to any "real world" group I'm involved in. There are some people I talk face to face about musicological matters with, but most of my real-world involvement is in actual performance in sessions - we may talk about tunes or songs in between playing them, but that's not the main point.

um .... has anyone else had trouble getting into the survey???

When I click the link in John's 1st post, it just takes me to the "thanks for doing it" end page of the Survey Company - and I can't find my way back to where I do the Mudcat Survey .....

Thanks to everyone who responded (372 from mudcat). The survey is now closed.

Once I've had a chance to assimilate the information, I'll post some of the results to this discussion thread.

Once again thank you to all of the help that members gave me in offering their opinions and impressions.

So, it's not an illusion, there are about twice as many men as women on Mudcat. Interesting. I will read your paper this evening. It looks very interesting. Thanks for posting an update. I really look forward to reading it!

This is very fascinating stuff John, I think you've done a wonderful job. An excellent paper. Is it ok with you if I post the transcripts from our interview as well? If you have it handy, go ahead and do so.

Hmmm -- doesn't look as if Max had much to say... Did something get omitted?

Thanks for posting the survey results, John. Very interesting stuff.

Interesting to see all that 'said' in one place. Max even gets 90% of the details correct... *grin* But you cant expect a busy administrator to follow ALL the undercurrents.
