Subject: RE: Help: Micca sightings:Where's the bugger now? From: GUEST,H.M.Customs and Excise Date: 24 Oct 01 - 08:20 AM Listen chaps, We're dreadfully sorry to inflict Micca upon you, what with all the other unwelcome things arriving in your land at the present time. However we would like to point out that the effects of a Micca attack are not as serious as they might appear. Yes, he can burble for hours on end, particularly with a captive audience, but there are simple measures which can be taken. One of the simplist is the cider approach. This can be effected in one of two ways. Either threaten notto let him have any cider until he agrees to be gagged, or pour more than six pints down his neck, at which point he will fall comatose and be rendered easily transportable. However, when transporting a comatose Micca, on no account should you use any hooks! In fact, the SOPs in the H.M.Customs Handbook advise that, in general, Miccas should be treated like any non-threatening mammal. Breeding is not recommended, however. When you've finished with your Micca you can either return him to the UK in the packaging provided (with duty pre-paid on his liver, of course) or let him loose in any US chemistry laboratory, where he will amuse himself for the forseeable future developing hitherto unknown explosives and cocktails which can be used in "Operation Infinite Hangover". Best wishes, The Exciseman |
Subject: RE: Help: Micca sightings:Where's the bugger now? From: Fortunato Date: 24 Oct 01 - 09:13 AM When last seen the fugitive was driving north with a gregarious gaggle of groupies. Under the guise of spreading joyous times and warm and fuzzy feelings, the suspect destroys schedules and demolishes work ethics. Puritans! Alert! The Pagans are among you and TOO MUCH FUN MAY RESULT! BEWARE.

Subject: RE: Help: Micca sightings:Where's the bugger now? From: annamill Date: 24 Oct 01 - 09:23 AM Last time I saw them, er.. actually just spoke to them, as I was at work in NY, was yesterday about noon and as explained to me, they were all heading toward Penna. to hang out for a while, then go over for the Tuesday night Mudcat Radio Show. Weren't they there? I worked late last night and I don't have a puter at home any more, so I don't get to hear the show at all anymore :-( According to plans, they were staying somewhere in PA, then heading up to Sinsulls this morning. Their plans after that, I don't know. So, where are the buggers? Love, Annamill |
Subject: RE: Help: Micca sightings:Where's the bugger now? From: Morticia Date: 24 Oct 01 - 09:24 AM ROTFLMAO....just make sure he comes back with all parts intact and no new odd behaviours....oh wait, how would we tell? |
Subject: RE: Help: Micca sightings:Where's the bugger now? From: Fortunato Date: 24 Oct 01 - 10:20 AM ROTFLMAO: Mort, my dear, what does that mean? Other than a passion for American Cider he remains as before. |
Subject: RE: Help: Micca sightings:Where's the bugger now? From: Bat Goddess Date: 24 Oct 01 - 10:44 AM Okay -- as I understand it, Sinsull and Micca show up at The Press Room in Portsmouth, NH for the session this Friday night where there will be the Ceremonial Hand-Off of Micca (anybody bringing pipes?! -- or should there be a shanty?) from Sinsull to Animaterra. Animaterra already scoped out The Press Room (albeit on a non-session evening) during the Portsmouth Maritime Folk Festival last month and, as a result, knows all about the parking situation on Daniel Street. Good news to Sinsull -- I FOUND the guest room bed! I knew it was there someplace. And you can actually GET TO IT without major limb-bashing and black and blueness. (No bats -- they've left for the season, so you've lucked out again.) Bat Goddess |
Subject: RE: Help: Micca sightings:Where's the bugger now? From: Bert Date: 24 Oct 01 - 12:30 PM I really don't know what you are all on about. The guy seems quite normal to me. Good singer, likes a jar or two, well travelled, good converstionalist, not really that old, and a bloody GREAT songwriter (The rotten SOD). In fact the perfect Mudcatter. Don't miss him when he gets to your town. |
Subject: RE: Help: Micca sightings:Where's the bugger now? From: annamill Date: 24 Oct 01 - 12:33 PM I thought he was pretty cool too, Bert. We have a new friend to love. L.A. |
Subject: RE: Help: Micca sightings:Where's the bugger now? From: SINSULL Date: 24 Oct 01 - 02:54 PM We are in NYC. The greeting party, all five cats, love Micca. Alice loved him enough to mark his jacket as her own...if you know what I mean. Giant sigh. Now I have to do his laundry! He was fairly quiet on the way up. Think we are wearing him out. Many thanks to Dick Swaine and family. Micca and I almost spent the night in the car but were rescued and then escorted to a wonderful breakfast this morning. Tomorrow we are on our way to New Hampshire. By the way - "Happy Birthday to me!" Nice to have such good company to celebrate with even if it is pizza and jug wine. Mary |
Subject: RE: Help: Micca sightings:Where's the bugger now? From: Fortunato Date: 24 Oct 01 - 02:59 PM Happy Birthday, Mary, my girl, have my little chum give you a hug for me. Many happy returns. Chance |
Subject: RE: Help: Micca sightings:Where's the bugger now? From: SINSULL Date: 24 Oct 01 - 04:11 PM Keeping your little chum from hugging me has been a problem. He is running around my apartment in a towel - shades of the Getaway. And I live on the first floor. Will probably hear from the co-op board by Monday. |
Subject: RE: Help: Micca sightings:Where's the bugger now? From: AllisonA(Animaterra) Date: 24 Oct 01 - 04:16 PM Well, Mary, we'll have a proper birthday bash New Hampshire style when you get here! Thanks for being Micca's northern transport! We're all looking forward to learning the truth about this cider-guzzling gregarious, chatty, hug-o-matic with all the cool songs! |
Subject: RE: Help: Micca sightings:Where's the bugger now? From: Cas Date: 24 Oct 01 - 04:33 PM Just dont let him sunbathe in a kilt! Its bad for the neighbourhood..lowers property values and depraves miners.. and pit ponies too. ask the squeak about the savlon! |
Subject: RE: Help: Micca sightings:Where's the bugger now? From: SINSULL Date: 24 Oct 01 - 04:38 PM Cas? Are you suggesting that I have him sunbathe without the kilt? He treated us all to the "altogether" at the Getaway. Not sure my neighbors are up to it. Although it might distract them from the Anthrax scare... |
Subject: RE: Help: Micca sightings:Where's the bugger now? From: catspaw49 Date: 24 Oct 01 - 05:19 PM Well, I just talked to the Bugger himself and (no surprise) he's having a high old time. New York is still trying to dig out from one disaster and now ........ Micca. When he returns to you across the pond, try to block in several days of time for him to talk about what all he's done and people he's met.......maybe a week or more. Sinsull said he's seems to be recharging at the moment for the New Hampshire onslaught......Allison my dear, I don't know what to tell you..........I'll light a candle. Spaw |
Subject: RE: Help: Micca sightings:Where's the bugger now? From: JedMarum Date: 24 Oct 01 - 05:37 PM After a long quiet peaceful drive to the FSGW gathering site, with a couple of old friends, and arriving late in the afternoon of a pretty Fall day - I was struck hard across the head with this outrageous fireball who calls himself, micca! He greeted us as we arrived at our cabin. I thought, "what did I get myself into??" To make matters worse, it turned out that this guy was my roommate! LOL micca threatened early on to sing us a few of his raunchy rugby songs, flash a few unsuspecting guests with the items hidden loosely beneath his kilt and turn us all on to some of his private stash of refined spirits ... so far as I know he made good on all those threats! micca turned out to be the 'treat of the weekend' - a free spirit with a love of life and song. Great to meet you micca! May you stay one step ahead if the INS! ;-) |

Subject: RE: Help: Micca sightings:Where's the bugger now? From: Gervase Date: 25 Oct 01 - 07:55 AM Easy on yerself, Morticia! I'm related (albeit distantly) to various primates, some of them very messy eaters, but I don't let it get me down too much. Look on it this way, some people have skeletons in their cupboards - those related to Micca have whole bloody ossuaries! |
Subject: RE: Help: Micca sightings:Where's the bugger now? From: Bat Goddess Date: 25 Oct 01 - 10:03 AM Gee, Sins, do you feel as if you're spending all of your time in a car? Subject: RE: Help: Micca sightings:Where's the bugger now? From: SINSULL Date: 25 Oct 01 - 11:19 AM We are about to get on the road AGAIN! Funny, without a car I rarely drive. I have quite literally done more driving in the past week than in the past two years. Very happy though - good company, wonderful music, happy times. Jed Marum's CD is on the CD (Maggie...SIGH)player and Kendall's tape is ready for the car. Let Animaterra know that we will be there about 6PM. I have spent a fair number of hours with Mudcat men and come away totally relaxed (no, not that kind of relaxed) and ready to take on the world. After three days with Micca I am ready for a week with one of our quieter Mudcat men. Liz and Morticia - you have my sympathy and respect. |
Subject: RE: Help: Micca sightings:Where's the bugger now? From: Diva Date: 25 Oct 01 - 12:44 PM Very peaceful wasn't it Mudguard!!!!!and they looked so sweet too. Mind you nobody slept through Liz singing Zadok the Priest....rather good it were. Sins I think you must be due some sort of medal for your efforts...I'm just trying to work out what it should be!!!! |
Subject: RE: Help: Micca sightings:Where's the bugger now? From: Jeri Date: 25 Oct 01 - 12:51 PM SINS, I spent the first few HOURS of the drive back from the Getaway listening to Jed. Then Rick. Then A.L. Lloyd. He wasn't at the Getaway, but it seems I'd put a lot of mellow music in the car and didn't feel like lulabies would go well with my sleep deprivation. "Funny, without a car I rarely drive." It do make it difficult, don't it? Looking forward to Friday! |
Subject: RE: Help: Micca sightings:Where's the bugger now? From: AllisonA(Animaterra) Date: 25 Oct 01 - 12:57 PM 6 pm? Thanks for the alert! The fridge is stocked with hard cider and the weather's promising to turn from balmy Indian Summer to bitterly cold at just about that time. Hmmm, could it be an omen? Batten down, Portsmouth, we'll be there tomorrow! |
Subject: RE: Help: Micca sightings:Where's the bugger now? From: Mrs.Duck Date: 25 Oct 01 - 01:08 PM Are chocolate bourbon balls anything like Malteasers??? Strangely Micca never seems to talk that much when I'm there - why is that do you think? |
Subject: RE: Help: Micca sightings:Where's the bugger now? From: annamill Date: 25 Oct 01 - 01:54 PM I MISS YOU GUYS!!! Tell Micca I Love him and he is welcome back to my abode any time. Subject: RE: Help: Micca sightings:Where's the bugger now? From: GUEST,Tinker Date: 25 Oct 01 - 02:10 PM Sinsull, I tried to post a Happy Birthday ! last night, but couldn't get in no matter what door I tried. By the time you get home there should be a small present on your door step. I found a CD on the Camsco table that seemed the perfect reflection of a birthday with Micca. Elsa Lanchester Sings Bawdy Cockney Songs--- after reading this thread, you might want to start with "Never Go Walking (Driving???) Without Your Hat Pin". Micca you were a treat, even if your dinner conversation could stand some refining. Birthin' babies and amputated feet aren't usually considered postprandial libations. Be good up north.... You're in my prayers Sinsull Tinker |
