Subject: RE: Wassail Good Intent Rochester UK From: GUEST,Pete the hat Date: 28 Nov 08 - 03:34 PM Kev the clogs I think the parrot was a crazy demented bird it was my sisters African Gray. He was very affectionate towards my sister, they adopt a life long bond to females but they dont like anyone else. The same story with alot of parrots. Its dead now the book case fell on him. |
Subject: RE: Wassail Good Intent Rochester UK From: VirginiaTam Date: 28 Nov 08 - 03:49 PM My brother and his wife adopted a cockatiel from an elderly lady who had to go into nursing home (alzhiemers) and Gordie has bonded with my brother. So cute..... Scott will say, "Gordie... time to brush our teeth" and this bird flutters down to Scott's shoulder. Gordie then marches up and down the vanity counter in front of the mirror while my brother brushes his teeth. |

Subject: RE: Wassail Good Intent Rochester UK From: VirginiaTam Date: 13 Dec 08 - 06:14 AM The modern day Apple Wassail is often used as an excuse to drink vast quantities of cider and party all night. This excuse is applicable to Christmas wassailing, as well. Will there be any special ciders laid on? |

Subject: RE: Wassail Good Intent Rochester UK From: VirginiaTam Date: 16 Dec 08 - 03:39 PM This question is for Growler or Barden of England What time do the festivities start on Saturday? This question is for Essex Girl, Naughtyforty, Melodeonboy or anyone who wants to chance it. How does one develop a taste for beer? No I am not taking the piss. I really want to know. |
Subject: RE: Wassail Good Intent Rochester UK From: GUEST,Pete the hat Date: 16 Dec 08 - 05:50 PM How does one develope a taste for beer." Well Its like a good Cheese it matures with age. I went to me doctor and said "Hey doc got anything for me liver. He said yeah" How about half a pound of Bacon and some Onions |
Subject: RE: Wassail Good Intent Rochester UK From: naughtyforty Date: 17 Dec 08 - 03:45 AM Tricky one Tam. My dad is a real ale drinker so I had my first taste at quite a young age (not sure exactly when!). Also, I don't have a particularly sweet tooth which helps. This isn't very helpful I know but I can only suggest keep trying. Looking forward to seeing you on Saturday. |
Subject: RE: Wassail Good Intent Rochester UK From: The Barden of England Date: 17 Dec 08 - 04:06 AM The festivities normally start somewhere between 12:30 and 13:00. Really looking forward to it. John Barden |
Subject: RE: Wassail Good Intent Rochester UK From: Girl Friday Date: 17 Dec 08 - 07:26 AM Hope you all have a great time, and down a couple of pints for me. Little point in us coming, as Trev can't drive that far, mustn't drink, and can't play/sing without running out of breath. We did manage half an evening at Fox and Hounds which was great. |
Subject: RE: Wassail Good Intent Rochester UK From: naughtyforty Date: 17 Dec 08 - 07:31 AM That's a shame Sue - you will both be missed. |
Subject: RE: Wassail Good Intent Rochester UK From: VirginiaTam Date: 17 Dec 08 - 07:32 AM Awww... No TDL. You both will be sorely missed. I probably won't be singing much either. Can't shift the chest cough and sore throat thing. Hope you both have lovely Christmas and New Year. |
Subject: RE: Wassail Good Intent Rochester UK From: GUEST,Essex Girl Date: 17 Dec 08 - 09:01 AM Tam, I was brought up on draft bitter, my father loathed the 'fizzy stuff' I find that the lower alcohol ones are great as session beers when you are in an all day singaround. I tried lager for a couple of years but found that I had to drink stonger and stronger brews to get any flavour. See you on Saturday!! |
