Giok, Dan Rowan stole that line. I'm not 100% sure but I think it was from George Burns - "Say goodnight Gracie".

Personally I'll go for Bugger Bognor! too.

The "Say 'Goodnight', Dick" was not original to Rowan and Martin, nor to George and Gracie. It was originally spoken by Harry Lee Wigley.

My favorite exit line is from my Grandfather, who on his deathbed, looked at me and said "Aaaaaauuuuuuuggggggghhh"

"CURSES!!! Foiled again!" - Snidely Whiplash and innumerable similar villains and scoundrels in top hats and black capes...

"Hasta la vista, Baby!" - Schwarzenneger

"AYYYY-DRIENNNNNNNE!!!!!" - Rocky Balboa (okay, it's not exactly an exit line, but it is memorable for sheer relentless persistence...and it closed the scene.)

"Oh, Cisco!" "Oh, Pancho!"

"Who was that masked man?"

"W-I-I-I-I-I-I-L-L-L-L-L-M-A!!!!"

LOL! I like the concept of this thread...

"The rest is silence." It is spoken by Hamlet - whom I have always thought of as the most egocentric and mean spirited of all Shakespeare's villains. He sure gave the Dane some good lines though!

Annahootz "Our work here is done, Tonto" was a common pre-exit line for The Lone Ranger. I'm not sure if it originated there, though.

"He who fights and runs away lives to fight another day." Said by I can't recall just before jumping out a castle window to the water below after being outmatched in a sword fight.

A bit astray, but, famous last f***in words... Captain of Titanic : "What the f*** was that?", Custer : "Look at all the f***in Indians." I'm sure someone else can remember the other half dozen or more.

Y'all go to hell, I'm going to Texas. ------ David Crockett, after not being reelected to the Senate.

And I really, REALLY like the goodbye scene in Shakespeare in Love. Makes me bawl every time.

General Stonewall Jackson is reported to have said, "Let us cross over the river and rest in the shade of the trees." Robin and Linda Williams wrote a great song based on it. Makes you wonder what he was seeing.
