I have added Mike Peat to the thread today. He was very active in the world of folk music, especially in the East Midlands area of England. He was a presenter on Radio Derby and there is a good piece on him on their website. RIP.

Three additions to thread; Alan Moorhouse, John Thompson and Anne Feeney. Three great performers who delighted audiences wherever they performed. Alan in the UK and Germany, John Thompson with Cloudstreet and the Spooky Mens' Chorale among other ventures and Anne who was a self-confessed hellraiser singing songs for justice. Looking down the list I was surprised to note that Bobby Eaglesham (The Other Half,Five Hand Reel and solo), is not on the Scottish thread. Sadly I am unable to remember the year of his passing.

Dave Evans died in Brussels this morning apparently - a real legend. RIP Dave. His album "The Words In Between" is one of the best I've heard of any genre.

John Kennedy, who died in 2019, has finally got his own thread! Thanks to Felipa for sorting that out. He was a lifelong musician from Ulster who was able to play a wide variety of instruments. I am pleased to be able to include him in this thread.

I've added an obit thread for Brian Moore, who has many mentions in Mudcat for songs he wrote, and as a member of an Irish political song group, The Men of No Property (later named The People of No Property). His death in 2011 was mentioned in a few Mudcat threads but I couldn't find any obit thread as such up to now:

I have added Robin Morton to the roll today. He was a member of 'Boys of the Lough' and there are many Youtube videos to watch to give you an idea of how influential he was. He will be sadly missed.

It is always hard when people we know reach the ends of their lives. In Ashling's case her life was brought to a close far sooner than it should have been by the actions of an attacker. Here's hoping the police are successful in finding the person responsible. RIP

John was an organizer, Nick a performer and opera fan and Hana Horka a member of the Czech folk band Asonance. Sadly Hana died needlessly because she was unvaccinated during a Covid pandemic. RIP

Are there two Trish Santers? A person by that name sang at our Mudcat Zoom singaround just earlier this week.
