Subject: BS: Mudcat censorship anti-semetic threads From: GUEST,Martin Gibson Date: 05 Nov 05 - 05:16 PM It has come to my attention that virtually every thread posted on Mudcat in the last 2 years dealing with very real anti-Israel/anti-Jewish/anti-semetic discussions of accusing or presenting articles of the far-left's support of these topics has been closed by Mudcat, never to be re-opened. Why is that? Is it just the bad press calling out the far-left on their anti-Israel/Pro palestinian/Arab support on a far-left web site? The Jewish press is starting to figure it out more and more, it seems. Soon I will be posting more articles.
If you call people names and make demeaning sexual remarks about them, that's not considered intelligent or civil discussion. Stick to the subject of the discussion and don't make personal attacks, and maybe I won't have to delete most of your posts. As it is now, you go on 100 percent review every time I receive a complaint about you, and the review continues until you settle down. -Joe Offer- |

Subject: RE: BS: Mudcat censorship anti-semetic threads From: Raedwulf Date: 05 Nov 05 - 06:58 PM You're not Martin Gibson, you're some sad act trying to cash in on a sad act's notoriety. You're also talking utter tripe (well, you're trying to pretend you're MG, so 10/10 there...). So piss off & stop wasting everone's time. Or give yourself a *real* name. Even MG, prize cretin though he was, was a member. Anyone can be a guest, so what worthless sort of a muppet are you so far? |

Subject: RE: BS: Mudcat censorship anti-semetic threads From: Raedwulf Date: 05 Nov 05 - 07:26 PM Martin, you're dead to the Cat, remember? You walked away, remember? Ah, no, you're full of shit as always, obviously. Congratulations, 10/10 for consistency, 0/10 for intelligence; which, in your case, funnily enough works out to the same thing. Nice to see that you're still just as bilious & still just as bigoted & worthless as ever you were. And we thought we were free of you. Wishful thinking. Just like most of your supposed logic... So are you going to stop pretending to be absent then? Or would you like to confess that you just can't beat the addiction of trolling Mudcat? |

Subject: RE: BS: Mudcat censorship anti-semetic threads From: GUEST,.gargoyle Date: 05 Nov 05 - 07:41 PM Martin - get over it.
Post to the newsgroups or Stormfront or any of several dozen other places....that I do.
Sure, like you, I've had MANY (perhaps 100 or more) postings removed. Some may have been personal-attacks, some may have irritated the Irish, some perhaps bumped a hooked-nose or two, many were wicked things about Wiccans....but they ALL should, (and were) removed.
A small group of friends created their own "sym-world" here. They pay the bills. If you want to play with their toys you need to play by their rules.
The MC/DT has lasted far, far longer than 98% of the the websites from a decade ago. Routine maintenance - and some vigilent clones have kept it from spinning off the axis.
Sincerely,
-Joe Offer- |

Subject: RE: BS: Mudcat censorship anti-semetic threads From: GUEST Date: 05 Nov 05 - 07:57 PM Yawn...is this shit back up and trying to run again! Raedwulf, you got it in one. There is nothing new here..found all this bullshit tedious first time round, 2nd time around it's just plain pathetic. Strikes me as kind of desperate when People post they are quitting the Mudcat then attempt a comeback with the same lame crap they tried before...yawn. You'de think with the vast amount of places in Cyberspace to troll this drivel there would be no need to return here. Ok..off to read threads that are interesting now. |

Subject: RE: BS: Mudcat censorship anti-semetic threads From: GUEST,.gargoyle Date: 05 Nov 05 - 08:42 PM In years past I gave warnings about being "too open" with strangers met through the net.
On today's news-wire is another since 9-11, we are not living in the same cyber-world-cowboy-frontier. The article is regarding a double murder/suicide by a 19 year old who had posted hateful/frustrated/angry comments to an "Ausbergers (high functioning autistic) Syndrom" support forum. Backup your own personal copy of the MC and DT ... in the future it might not be worth the risk of losing the house, job, and kid's education fund ... because someone "demands" freedom of speech on your family's roof-top.
Online Threats Spurs Debate Saturday, November 05, 2005
EXCERPTS
"What, if anything, should Web site gatekeepers do when users post threatening messages online?
"Internet law experts generally agree there is no legal onus on site-owners or users to notify police.
"Still, ethicists say operators should try to alert authorities if they believe a user is serious about committing harm.
"In recent years, a handful of chat room users who published violent messages have been prosecuted...legal experts say.

Subject: RE: BS: Mudcat censorship anti-semetic threads From: Once Famous Date: 06 Nov 05 - 11:55 AM Joe, Glad to keep you busy. Life must be pretty boring for you when I take a hiatus. Meanwhile, your double standard on this web forum continues to fascinate me. Gargoyle, you are right, though about this forum. It is a play-toy of a select group of losers. It is not a public forum and it suffers greatly from censorship. Joe has his friends here and I do not care if I am one of them. The point is, the far-left has an anti-semitc/anti Israel ring to it. These types of threads are closed or removed here. That's the point. |
Subject: RE: BS: Mudcat censorship anti-semetic threads From: Once Famous Date: 06 Nov 05 - 11:58 AM Oh and to Joe: Why don't you act on the complaints that I have sent to you for the same reasons? |

Subject: RE: BS: Mudcat censorship anti-semetic threads From: Big Mick Date: 06 Nov 05 - 02:38 PM BTW Martin, have you noticed this isn't deleted or closed. It is because it doesn't contain personal attacks. The subject of whether something is anti semitic, or have anti semitic underpinnings is a legitimate discussion. But should you slip into the gratuitous vulgarity, then you will be bleeped. Now, how about some facts that support the original assertion of the thread. Remember that you are speaking about the Mudcat and not individual posters. Mick |
Subject: RE: BS: Mudcat censorship anti-semetic threads From: Peace Date: 06 Nov 05 - 02:45 PM "Life must be pretty boring for you when I take a hiatus." I can speak to this statement. I took a double dose of hiatus once in 1967. Had NO idea where the hell I was for days, maybe even weeks. It was a foul-tasting liquid but it was said to heighten the senses whilst preparing one for NIRVANA. I must have missed that subway stop due to the effects of the hiatus because I never did reach it. (I think it's out near Flatbush or somethin'.) Anyway, thank you for reminding me about something of which I have absolutely NO recollection. Hard to believe, but there ya have it, folks. |
Subject: RE: BS: Mudcat censorship anti-semitic threads From: Joe Offer Date: 06 Nov 05 - 03:15 PM Well, Martin, when you're on hiatus, I can spend my time on music. Believe me, it's not boring at all. I'm an old-style social democratic liberal, and I strongly favor Israel, and I tend to agree with your ideas on antisemitism - when you express them. However, your contributions to the discussion seem to focus mostly on the size and construction of the sex organs of your fellow Mudcatters - and those posts get deleted as soon as I see them. We're a discussion forum, Martin - not a battlefield. -Joe Offer- |

Subject: RE: BS: Mudcat censorship anti-semetic threads From: Wilfried Schaum Date: 07 Nov 05 - 03:29 AM Normally I don't read or contribute to such threads, but the subject sounded interesting. What is "semetic"? In my dictionary I found only the suggestions "semitic" and "emetic" - an elixir making you vomit. Appropriate here. And by the way, the British Council should send more teachers to the Colonies to introduce some inhabitants into the mysteries of English orthography and - manners. |
Subject: RE: BS: Mudcat censorship anti-semetic threads From: Peace Date: 07 Nov 05 - 10:13 AM English orthography? What the hell do ya think we need with that? No English birds here! |
Subject: RE: BS: Mudcat censorship anti-semetic threads From: GUEST,Martin gibson Date: 07 Nov 05 - 12:17 PM Joe, it's a discussion forum only if it meets a certain agenda. Otherwise, the stuff you allow posted from your favorites, usually disguised as Guests is your double standard. Big Mick, if you do a search on anti-semitic you will see every thread has been closed and not always it seems for personal attacks. I consider some, not all here to be anti-semetic and very anti-Israel. When they support the Arab cause, they are quite frankly supporting an enemy. So perhaps they deserve everything they can be attacked with. Granted, they are entitled to their opinion. They are also entitled to be told that their personal opinion is full of crap, as a sympathizer of an enemy of course. |
Subject: RE: BS: Mudcat censorship anti-semetic threads From: Big Mick Date: 07 Nov 05 - 12:53 PM Martin, your views are well known and not without their supporters. I agree with many of them. I hate discrimination in all its forms that are used as an excuse to attack people. I am a supporter of Israel, and its right to exist. I also support a homeland for the Palestinians. They have every bit as much right to that as do the Israeli's. The latter does not make me an anti semite or anti Israeli. It is a simple statement of principle. Having said that, I would also say that those who attack the Israeli's for their actions are being naieve or acting with an agenda. I believe that the right wing approach is wrong headed, but when a people have had an alliance of nations whose stated purpose was to drive them into the sea, or kill every one of them, or put them all in ovens, it is understandable that they would adopt a "never again" posture. Folks that don't get that are simply ignorant. There is no group in modern times who can lay claim to the extermination of 6,000,000 of their kin, followed by 50 years of a program to exterminate them and destroy their homeland. Unfortunately, in their righteous anger, many of the Israeli's use their history as an excuse to ravage the Palestinian people preferring to lump them all together as "the enemy". I have no quarrel with a war on the groups, such as the Martyrs Brigade and Hamas, who terrorize and kill. But the collateral deaths on both sides make this a very sad circumstance. Blessed be the peacemakers. Mick |

Subject: RE: BS: Mudcat censorship anti-semetic threads From: GUEST,Martin gibson Date: 07 Nov 05 - 06:15 PM I will also say amen to that, Big Mick. However, it is truly sad that comparing Israel to the surrounding Arab countries/territories is the equivelent of a matchbook on a football field. The reality is that Israel is not not saying Arab countires and territories do not have a right to exist. But it sure doesn't seem that way the other way around. No one in Israel is calling an Arab an infidel. No one in Israel is using pure terrorism. |
