Many thanks to Rattle On The Stovepipe for their superb performance last night to open a new season for us. The audience were enthusiastic and seemed to be thoroughly enjoying themselves. The only problem for me was looking round the room and counting 23 people who had previously perfomed floor spots at the Oak and realising that I could only fit in 7 - aaargh! nightmare!

We had quite a number of new younger people in last Thursday including some who had clearly not been to folk clubs before. Apart from the thanks that I got at the end of the evening, I have just received this email:-

Dear Vic,
just a line to say thank you for the lovely evening with Alasdair
Roberts last Thursday - it was good to hear his new songs and its
always a treat to see him play! I really liked the format of the
evening as well - with people getting up to sing and everyone joining
in - I haven't been to an evening like that before.
Hopefully going to try and come along to the Jackie Oates evening in January.
Thanks again
regards
Jessica

Most satisfying!
