I am gobsmacked.
I fear for AI because it is crass errors like below that will result in the majority vote - which is how LLMs make decisions trawling the web for data.
When did the acronym GIGO cease to have currency?

I was looking for definitive wiring diagram for the new fangled 13 pin plug - it tells you in dozens of places what colour wire goes to which pin number and usually a diagrammtic colour-coded view.

But they don't say pin view or rear (where the wires are going to go).
Wiki - no. The manufacturer even says "socket from rear" on the plug page which would be mirrored for the rear of the plug! "Practical Caravanning" gives pin numbers but no diagram.
Well I am still looking.

I don't claim to be the best at description but jeeze............

I could always edit Wiki when the correct story reveals itself.

looks like I have the definitive image - it is a re-coloured photo type view, pin side, with each pin colour matching the list of functions. A picture tells what one missing word cannot.

at 2:15 & for a while the image appears see - You Tube Video

Now I don't see AI watching the video &/or interpreting that in the learning phase. Well not for a long time yet.

AI is known to lie. Apparently this is one of the points for claiming it is creative. Which is a fair point.

Some lawyer in New York State used AI to produce a pleading in the case of a burglar he was defending, and the AI, having "noticed" that pleadings usually contain references to precedents, invented citations for volumes and cases which don't even exist.

The lawyer was lucky not to get disbarred.

I saw a nice cartoon recently where one character is saying beating the AI war machine was a lot easier than he expected. The other pointed out that AI systems trawl data to build their models, and almost every battle in human history has been won with spears and swords ...

Point of order: lying requires knowing true from false. Artificial Incompetence doesn't: it's a glorified guess-the-next-word machine which can't be sent to its room without supper. When it produces something (let's say) counter-factual, that's called "hallucination" in the trade; real humans can do that as well in all innocence, eg False Memory Syndrome.

.... Exception: When playing certain role-playing games, LLMs can be trained to tell lies when the rules permit it. But that's an outlier.

BTW - forward planning is what confused me!

Before starting I went to find. But when I was a bit confident I had the definitive answer - I found the terminals numbered on the plastic.

A case of planning was not the best approach! AI can't handle the physical item.

Anyway edited Wiki page with a photo for the next person.
