But Sins - did your cabbage leaf work.

Hope things are a lot better. How's it doing?

(I know you didn't post pictures 'cause the carrots changed the color too much. You know we can edit that out.)

John

The cabbage leaf isn't intended to be there as a cooling agent. There's something about the way it either contains the body heat or to possibly off-gas of something therapeutic. I don't know *why* it worked, but for me it worked to leave it in for the day. I didn't ever need it longer. In case you were going to ask--I'm not aware that there is an exchange available with other cruciferous veggies--you can't stick broccoli or cauliflower or mustard greens (well, maybe?) in your bra for the same effect. And broccoli and cauliflower sometimes cause upset stomaches for the baby if mom eats them.

it works because of an enzyme in the cabbage leaves (don;t ask me what.... but it really does help) ... the idea of having them cool is for the relief that the coolness gives and is a bonus to the therapeutic effect

All cabbage leaves aside...

I've just received word from SINSULL that all is quite nearly well - meaning that she still has a bit of healing to do. The doc got her fixed up just fine and doesn't expect any further difficulties. I'll leave it to Mary to elaborate on this when she is able. Unfortunately, the phone company has messed with her connections and she is without land line or internet service.

I had a lumpectomy and a tissue biopsy yesterday and the results will be in on Tuesday. Word is though that all looked "normal" and it was in fact a bacterial infection. In the middle of all this my handyman installed a new phone line and by 6 PM I had no phone service at all. Long story and coincidence but apparently my neighbor who is moving had his phone service disconnected yesterday and they disconnected me by accident. Meantime, I had the handyman back and we tore the house apart trying to figure out what he had done to my phones. Is anything simple?????

Today I am fine. A little dopey from the anaesthesia but relatively pain free - I just won't take any more pain pills. And I hurt a little. But I am amusing my family with by calling glasses spoons, etc. and trying to figure out how to turn on a light switch. I will probably sleep all day and let them do LL Bean or whatever.

Thank you Allan for letting people know. Glad this is over.

SINS
