Hey, big things are made up of little things. If encouraging someone to take better care of themselves, simply by thought, word or deed, means they are healthier in body or spirit, then surely we should be encouraging little things as well. If I felt that my big things (my asthma, 4 close relatives who've either died from or have the big C, disabled mother with MS) were affecting my life as much as some of the little things (insomnia, the squitters, migraine, whatever), then I would just lie down and give up now.

Sometimes, it is impossible to focus on the big picture, and the whole dis-ease cannot be digested as one piece. Focus on one thing that can be dealt with. Often, when people are in great pain, it is the small things that hurt most. When I was recovering from a Caeserean section, I was in more pain from swollen, itchy feet (side effect of blood pressure problems) than I was from the major surgery procedure. Someone gave me some foot balm and curing that just made everything easier to cope with. So don't ignore the little things.

And I still have that virus......

Thank you all. Welcome, welcome, MamaTamba. Glad to have you aboard. Less than a year ago, I wasn't online at all. Wonderful things happen here.

Micca, thank you for all of your clarity on here. Iwasn't sure how to put things really. And, yes, LTS, while the litle things do add up and it is important for the warm fuzzies annap mentioned, I was thinking of this as a readily available, "supreme effort" type of thing, even though I know we all do our utmost for one another anyway. I guess this would just be more organised and specific and also, I wanted to stress the confidentiality or privateness, if people so desired, along with the concerted effort of many as one.

Still open to any directions and suggestions, etc.

Just got back from our trip, so I'll post more tomorrow.

luvyaKat

Hi Everyone!

I just wanted to thank all of you who might not have 'signed the book' on Mark's thread, but kept him in your thoughts and prayers. He's doing very well and may get to leave the hospital tomorrow. See 'his thread' for details.

My son was very impressed by the caring and concern shown for his best friend and he thanks you sincerely for all your good thoughts and prayers.

Again, thank you all and if you ever need me, I'll be there, Áine

Dear friends, This isn't Micca, but his wife, Aud. I saw him in hospital this morning & will go back again this evening. He thanks everyone for the good wishes & fan mail, his condition is gallstones so nothing serious. Sorry, I'm very new to this messages via websites stuff & am not too sure of the best way of sending things on. At the moment he doesn't know when he will have the operation (stones too big for ultrasound zap), but it *could* mean spending the Millennium at home, with no booze. Please continue to send greetings, I will deliver them. His main problem at the moment is stultifying boredom. Best wishes & Love to all of you, Audrey XXOO :-)

Audrey, thank you so much for the update and good news, well about it not being too serious, at least, sorry about the surgery, though. Welcome to the Mudcat, you're doing just fine for being a newbie at cyberdom.*smile*

Please tell Micca that twiddling thumbs may stifle boredom, BUT it can be dangerous if one lets them get all tied up in knots. **Big Grin**

Can he have a cd/tape player? I know when Spaw was in hospital it really seemed to help him to have music to lsiten to. Any chance you could smuggle in a laptop?

Seriously, please tell Micca we miss him and are holding him in the Light of perfect health and well being, as well as you, Aud.

Blessed Be,

luvyaKat

Hi Cats, Many thanks for all the good wishes/healing, etc.,& greetings from the depths of the Royal London Hospital. I still do not know what's wrong with me but I have a radio so I know what's wrong with the world.
Apart from being woken up every hour on the hour for blood sugar tests, no food, only water to drink (any one who knows me will tell you how much I like that!) & because of this (I was admitted at 4 am Saturday), missing my favourite BEER FESTIVAL,like Cletus I was blowing blue smoke & flames.
A little thread creep: why do they never tell you that ultrasound scans hurt like hell? I feel like I went 10 rounds with Mike Tyson.
The immediate plan as far as I know is to get the infection under control, then either operate or, their preferred route, send me home for 6 weeks then do the op.
Many thanks again to everyone, Aud printed the thread & it gave me a real boost. More soon. Cheers, Micca

Hey Micca! Glad to see you're still in the Land of the Lost! Aw come on, quit yer gripeing! What's one Beer Fest when you have cold slimey stuff rubbed all over your body and then be rammed with an electrode? Don't you know what's fun, man?

Still holding you and yours in our prayers, Áine

Micca, good to hear your *voice*! Thanks Aud for typing and printing and generally being a good partner. It's the pits when a healer has to lay low for awhile.

Micca, you are thought of many times thoughout my day, always in the Light. Do what they say, okay? We want you to feel better!

You weren't around back in May, but believe me when I say...I UNDERSTAND!!! And you're right about the tests...some of the most unlikely things hurt like hell! Of course there's the infamous lower GI which sounds nasty, and IS. Of course Squeaks probably goes through more pain hot waxing her chest. I suggested a good depilatory, but she told me to bugger off. What can I say, it ain't my chest hair.

Thinking of you,

Spaw

Hell, Micca, if you've succumbed to gallstones it must be grim - I always though you had the constitution of a granite ox! Best wishes, and I hope all goes well and that boredom doesn't become terminal. Hospitals are so sodding *dull*, particularly when you feel crappy. All the very best ol' pal...
