Snowed off the roads, here I sit, waiting for the morn to come with clear roads. In the meantime, I'd meant to start this earlier and forgot until Micca left a reminder in the Sally's better II thread.

I know we all rally round when one of us is in need, but I thought the other day, how nice it might be for some who do not want to go public or for whatever reason, if there were any or all of us who would like to be contact people for a healing circle? I know there are a few of us, in different inner circles of Cats who do this informally.

It just seems to me, we have a lot of healers on here, with music and other abilities and some who have a lot of experience, with the time needed to lend aid when requested. So I guess what I am trying to say is: how about a list of phoaks who wouldn't mind being contacted personally and/or privately for healing energy or whatever is needed, who can in turn notify others on the list who have some time to devote to specific requests? If people were interested, we could even agree to a specific time, each day, when we could concentrate together, on the list of people needing help, even if only for five minutes; a kind of group visualisation/prayer/meditation.

I think it is wonderful and fine that we do this already in the threads and I wouldn't want to limit that in anyway. I would see this as an added bennie for those who want it or those who do not want to have a thread for whatever they want help on.

In addition, I would like to see this thread add to the Music Therapy threads which expressed so profoundly the experiences of those of you who have healed with music, particularly our own Night Owl, who is back on with us now. YEA!!!

Does any of this make any sense? Thanks, luvyaKat

I think this is a wonderful idea, dear Kat! No one can say your sittin' on YOUR laurels while the snow blows . . . well, maybe 'Spaw, but we all know how he is.

Count me in on the circle -- the secret is, don't ya know, that the good energy you send out only comes back to ya -- I call that a great incentive (just in case somebody might need one) *BG*

Ya know you can count on my half a watt transmitter, Kat.

One half watt can't cure sickness and despair,
Two half watts can't cure sickness and despair,
But if one and two and fifty make a million,
We'll find a cure some day,
We'll find a cure some day.

Or how about

One half-wit can't find the way to peace
Two half-wits can't find the way to peace,
But if Seed and Spaw and Mudcat make a million,
We'll see that day come round,
We'll see that day come round.

Charles did you ever hear the one about this Mother watching her little boy pick up fresh clams that had washed upon the shore throwing as many as he could back into the lake. Him mom says to him "what are you doing, you can't save them all". The boy proceeds to throw one more clam back into the lake, looks up at his mom, smiles and says, well I guess I made a differents for that one.

I don't know much about any of this arcane and abstruse healing stuff. I do my little bit of what I think is good and hope I do no harm. Anybody who wants my help is welcome to it. I'm pretty good at coming up with strategies to help people create order out of chaos. (I know this because half-a-dozen career assessments can't be all wrong...)

I think a mudcat healing circle is a great idea, though.

This is perhaps very selfish of me, but if you can send out some positive vibes to me I would appreciate it. The reason being that there is a nasty virus here in Yorkshire I think I've got it. I feel dreadful and have a very very important meeting tomorrow. There is no way I cannot come to work tomorrow and leave my colleague in the "shit" The problem is I cannot concentrate I feel achy all over, very hot and miserable. This meeting is the first one that I have had joint responsibilty for. I just don't know what I am going to do. I am a great believer in positive thought, I will do my best to help myself, but would like some back up.

kindest regards

When I think of being a 'Healer', I think of being a human being who has got their priorities straight. Kindness, compassion and caring of other human beings. To me this is the most important endeavor any human being could understake.

Caring Mudcatters; people connnecting their minds with an open heart, thinking loving thoughts in genuine concern to help heal the wounded.

I'm in and for those of you above eho say"I am not a healer" or "I just do my bit for the General wellbeing" I ask you what can be more healing than that. We you see something or go somewhere or think of something special that makes you feel alive and in contact with the earth/ life/God(what ever you percieve Him or Her to be) or anything that raises your awareness. Just focus/think it towards the purpose(ie Sally) and thats all. At best it will help at the very worst you may feel a little foolish for "thinking into the void" but you will feel better for having contributed, it may not be clear to you what, but you have. lts - if the "squitters" is what it sounds like, you are definitely not having fun. I'll send comforting thoughts your way. I'm sitting here at work also worrying about a friend's mother who is having surgery in an hour and a half for suspected kidney cancer. When my first wife developed brain cancer, we were convinced that everybody's prayers and concern made life easier for her. In fact, she lived 7 years after the doctors had predicted 6 months. Miracles happen every day, it's just a matter of recognizing them. Hang in there, Squeak!

I'm in there with the rest of you who don't feel they have specific healing powers but are quite happy to concentrate our thoughts on a specific person or subject. I don't know how successful we can be trying to align all our thoughts at the same time as we all work from such different time frames - even those of us in the same country don't necessarily log on regularly at the same time, but I'm sure that if the requests for thoughts/help are there, we can probably provide an almost continuous 24-hour service, so to speak, as we log on in our own time.

Since our dear Kat Sagewalker is in the wilds of darkest Utah, Can I suggest a ( NB. A, not the) method for adding energy to a circle in case it's a technique that you are not familiar with. If you have a method that works for you use that.
If you want to, use an image,( or music or whatever,) that relaxes you, either have it handy or put it on the screen and minimise it. Then log on to the Cat and find the healing circle page or the particular thread asking for healing or even the name of the originator. Once you have the contact in your mind maximise or look at your image and think relaxing healing thoughts, don't force them just let them flow, almost steal over you the way the smell of fresh baked apple pie does.
Another method is to build up your energy, do something creative, go for a walk, pet your animals make love, anything that raises your "feeling of wellbeing" then when its appropriate log on and pour the energy into who or what you want to help. Do not be surprised if it increases the sense of wellbeing and energy you feel inside, this is a common occurrence the more you give the more you receive (this is not always the case but often occurs). One belief system says that "What you send out you will receive threefold" It applies to good as well as bad. Hope this helps and many thanks to all who have volunteered to help. I am interested in how people feel and their experiences of this kind of energy transfer, if anyone feels like communicating their experiences please do so on the personal mails.
I do not think we necessarily need even to coordinate times as the cicle is around the world any way and energy to the circle will be constantly used and topped up. " Let the circle be unbroken" Micca

Can I say I agree with Annap, in the main, as I understand it this is for the Biggies where one needs the spiritual equivalent of an antibiotic and a source of support and energy to get you through something not encountered every day. Working with it may well help you with everyday stress and "things" but the object of the exercise is someone else. Nothing wrong with "Warm and fuzzy" and it may be the feeling you get from participation but the intent is for "big stuff" That is focused healing energy for those who need it. I think I agree with Micca. This is for the Big Things. Horrible question: since our intervention with Mark has apprently been successful (see other thread for THAT good news) should we be thinking about a double blind study to show we are really doing something here? Only one problem. . . how to decide who goes in the "control" group!! On second thought, let's just keep doing our best and it may make a difference to THAT starfish. Was it the Lubavitcher Rebbe who said that "any single act of love and kindness may be the one that tips the balance"? I was so surposed to read Robert Anton Wilson saying the same thing!

There was an experiment reported in New Scientist which claimed to have a control group not prayed for. I wondered a) just how they made sure that no-one prayed for the control group, and b) just what sort of deity would go along with such an experiment (since they were discussing prayer rather than non-deity assisted healing). I also remember a short story by Zenna Henderson on the same theme, in which the protagonist refused to abstain from praying as she gave blood.

The serious implication of this is that, if it works, we have an obligation to do it.

Penny
