SRS, The waters of the Styx were supposed to have curative and protective properties (wasnt that what Achilles was dipped in? except she held him by the heel,leaving a weak spot)and the Lethe brings forgetfulness, that might help with hospital food...!!!

Ugh! How horrible. Major burns are not fun at all, and the healing process is often just as bad. But you WILL heal, and you WILL have a crack team of doctors and nurses at Johns Hopkins, all of whom will be seriously motivated to get you better QUICKLY, if only to stop the puns, the horrible puns!

Severn, I am glad you'e posting but I am also well aware of the pain and time it takes burns to heal. Other things progress more quickly but with burns you just lay there and hurt. So thanks......We all appreciate it!

Hopefully some of the latest and newest technologies can help out and you'll be feeling better asap.......

Make sure you ask for more pain meds if you need them. All the stress of the pain can slow down your healing. I would insist on being put in a coma until it was all over - I'm a wuss about pain.

Myself, I'd wanted be soaking in a tub of cool aloe vera gel...nothing like it to soothe a nasty burn. The ice could go round the outside of the tub, like a double boiler, only keeping the aloe cooled!

It is cool, very cool, and rainy in the high desert, today...lots of good moisture...thinking of you, Severn, and hoping you feel the sweet release of rain throughout your bod.:-)

OK The Jell-O pit is disinfected, filled with Aloe Vera Gel (in a lovely shade of green)and cooled with a blanket of crushed ice. The squid is not happy but he'll live. Hop in Severn. Enjoy!
