Subject: RE: Happy Canadian Thanksgiving! From: gnu Date: 11 Oct 09 - 03:47 PM Oh my... oh my... and I didn't really eat much... just four tablespoons of squash, four of chow, a few of carrots and turnip each, and about ten of turkey... turkey is just so filling... it's that there triptophane or sommat what makes ya sleepy? Well, on top of the beer I had when I was cooking. Oh well, in a few hours, I'll have some some more if I am still awake. |

Subject: RE: Happy Canadian Thanksgiving! From: Little Hawk Date: 11 Oct 09 - 11:21 PM There was a scratching at the door tonight. A sort of pecking sound. I opened the door and looked out into a rainy, cold, and miserable night, and what did I see? A turkey in the last stages of exhaustion and desperation. "For god's sake, hide me!" he croaked. "I've been on the run for days." What could I do? I let him in, gave him a warm seat before the fire, and he is now resting comfortably on a pillow near the hearth. His incredible sense of relief upon finding out that we don't even celebrate Thanksgiving in this house was pathetic and heartbreaking to see. How terrible it is that hundreds of thousands of his bretheren in turkey factories and in the fields will not escape the hideous fate that awaits them as the human population, led by maniacs like Sarah Palin, engages in mass murder of this gentle and sensitive species of large bird! Well, I have done my bit. This is one turkey they are NOT going to get. |
Subject: RE: Happy Canadian Thanksgiving! From: CarolC Date: 12 Oct 09 - 12:43 AM Happy Thanksgiving! (I know, I'm a little bit late for my time zone.) Today is also JtS' and my anniversary (7th), so I made him a lamb pot roast because he loves lamb, and he said it was delicious. I have to take his word for it, since I don't eat meat. I had some delicious baked tofu. mmmmm tofu mmmmm |
