I saw a video from California of a heavy rainstorm that caused some landslides that made a stand of trees acquire a two-lane road and race downhill to collide with a truck in full reverse and chase some other cars. A car leaving the road and hitting a tree is one thing, but its reverse was really weird.

I was with some friends. We were eating ice cream. When I was done, I flipped my spoon toward the sink. It made one complete turn in the air and landed business end down in a glass of water. My friends' jaws fell open. I just acted like this was how I always do it.

Hares boxing in the month of March consists of one male and the other female.

His...erm...amorous intentions are being fended off :)

Last Sunday morning, Hubby & I were getting into my car to go out and I found a $100 note folded in half and tucked into the driver's side door handle. On closer inspection I saw it was a fake note. I said to Hubby that he might have one on his car as well, which was parked just ahead, and yes, he found one too. The money notes in Oz have a lot of security features, including see-through parts and hidden images when held up to the light i.e. watermarks. These were just printed on opaque paper or maybe a papery plastic material.

I reported it to the Police and we dropped the two notes in to the Police Station this morning.

In the last couple of days there have been news articles and a notice on the Police news site about counterfeit cash circulating up in the Hunter Valley, just north of here but no mention was made of Newcastle. Like the second photo in that article the two notes we found have the word "Copy" printed on one side.

For me the most unlikely things were: a) why would anyone leave a $100 note on someone else's car, but then b) why would they leave a fake note on someone's car when fake notes are obviously used for passing them over in transactions and hoping the recipient does not spot the fake? I still can't see the point of the prank so for me it is just a weird, wacky event which makes no sense.

Hubby later searched on the internet about fake currency left on cars and one explanation was that it can be bait for potential victims of car jacking. The victim is so bemused by the strange sight that they stand outside their car long enough for the car jacking criminal to take advantage of them. Sadly for any potential car jackers, we didn't go out until mid-morning so if they were lying in wait, too bad, so sad, we didn't play along with their little game.

Speaking of California, in 1975 my family and I were heading south and leaving I-5 to head uphill and over to US-1. Coming around a bend I see in front of me a guy with a backpack.. ON A UNICYCLE.. going back and forth across the road to lessen the grade.
When the road was clear, I pulled up beside him and shouted, "Where are you going?"...."Los Angeles", he replied. "Where did you start?" I asked, "Portland!" he said.
I shook my head and yelled "Good luck!"
I'm betting he made it.

A French car from Switzerland driven by a German guy in Malvern UK. He had bought it as a write-off. It was dimpled all over with tennis ball sized depressions. The owner said it had been in a monstrous hail storm, and resulted in an insurance claim. It looked funky though.

There are no official statistics for the statistical occurrence of moonbows in Ireland because they are very rare phenomena, though the conditions for them are favorable in Ireland
. While Ireland has a very high frequency of conventional rainbows due to its climate, moonbows require specific and rare conditions, including a full moon, rain or water mist, and a low moon position in a dark, clear sky.
