Subject: RE: BS: World Series 2019 From: Bonnie Shaljean Date: 28 Oct 19 - 01:09 PM It was very punny. At least it strikes me that way. |
Subject: RE: BS: World Series 2019 From: Donuel Date: 28 Oct 19 - 01:33 PM If every Nats player takes one for the team, they are assured of at least one more victory. One what? some might ask. answer: -bone crushing chin music pepper to their body by a backdoor slider.- |
Subject: RE: BS: World Series 2019 From: Donuel Date: 28 Oct 19 - 01:37 PM being caught stealing is less painful than taking one for the team. |
Subject: RE: BS: World Series 2019 From: Mrrzy Date: 28 Oct 19 - 04:34 PM Ooh Bonnie welcome! A fair lassie, are ye? Donuel I was referring to "on the fly." Quite a sacrifice. |

Subject: RE: BS: World Series 2019 From: Mrrzy Date: 29 Oct 19 - 12:41 PM Um, no...? |
Subject: RE: BS: World Series 2019 From: Donuel Date: 29 Oct 19 - 01:53 PM Randy Johnson called his fast ball Mr. Snappy and suggested you'd never want to be hit by Mr. Snappy. |
Subject: RE: BS: World Series 2019 From: Mrrzy Date: 29 Oct 19 - 02:52 PM Ah. I was thinking of being obnoxious to teenage girls. |
Subject: RE: BS: World Series 2019 From: Donuel Date: 29 Oct 19 - 05:58 PM Tonight's chant: Play on ye National pastimes, prevail in the game. Baseball is not a fight or a war. Its sportsmen who like the park and want to go home. |
Subject: RE: BS: World Series 2019 From: Donuel Date: 29 Oct 19 - 07:45 PM Hasten quickly lads and play the game with heart |
Subject: RE: BS: World Series 2019 From: gillymor Date: 29 Oct 19 - 07:55 PM Well, let's hope they don't hasten slowly. |
Subject: RE: BS: World Series 2019 From: gillymor Date: 30 Oct 19 - 05:48 AM What a game last night, for the Nats that is. They did it at the bat, in the field and on the mound. There was plenty of controversy and drama and masterful performances from Strasburg,(a perfect 5-0 with a 1.98 era in this post season) and Rendon (5 rbi's, a homer and a gem in the field). They've got a decent chance in the finale tonight if Mad Max is able to go, and they say he will. I kind of feel for old Verlander, a certain Hall of Famer who's now 0-6 in World Series play. |
Subject: RE: BS: World Series 2019 From: gillymor Date: 30 Oct 19 - 05:53 AM btw, the visiting teams are 3-0 in this series. |
Subject: RE: BS: World Series 2019 From: Donuel Date: 30 Oct 19 - 06:26 AM After the game the manager for the Nats looked embarrassed for telling the ump to go f*uck himself 8 or 9 times. A couple more unwritten rules were broken that made some players wince. The winner is the guy who did not let go of his beers and let himself get hit in the chest by a homer. Strausberg was stoicly brilliant. Both teams deserve to win but baseball ends tonight no matter what. |

Subject: RE: BS: World Series 2019 From: ChanteyLass Date: 31 Oct 19 - 07:14 PM I'm not much of a sports fan, but I'm pleased to see an underdog succeed! I have a friend who is a big sports fan for the "local" team. Once they've been eliminated, she roots for the underdog, too. |
Subject: RE: BS: World Series 2019 From: Donuel Date: 31 Oct 19 - 07:22 PM I followed this series not as a fan of sports but an observer of quantum unlikelyhood. |
Subject: RE: BS: World Series 2019 From: Donuel Date: 02 Nov 19 - 05:27 PM Crowds for the Nats parade were bigger than inauguration crowds I've never seen anything like the continuous fire confetti cannons Atop double deck buses several players per bus would run down and high five the kids. At the end of Constitution Ave there were more celebrations and concerts |
Subject: RE: BS: World Series 2019 From: keberoxu Date: 02 Nov 19 - 05:56 PM Ah, Donuel, now you know what Boston was like when the Red Sox broke the curse. |
Subject: RE: BS: World Series 2019 From: Donuel Date: 03 Nov 19 - 12:10 PM Heck we bought an illuminated Red Sox refridgerator. We watched that series outside in the hot tub. |

Subject: RE: BS: World Series 2019 From: Donuel Date: 03 Nov 19 - 05:35 PM The Nats pitcher Doolittle is a kind of Star Wars dofuss who carries a light saber. He is the first to say "Hell No I won't go to the White House to shill for Trump's conspiracy theories and corruption". |
Subject: RE: BS: World Series 2019 From: gillymor Date: 06 Nov 19 - 07:56 AM Nat's reliever Sean Doolittle on why he didn't go to the White House- Washington Post I'm dissappointed that more of his team mates didn't abstain as well but I'm still basking in the afterglow of a massive Curly W. |
