Subject: BS: No, *We* want our country back!!!
From: Bobert
Date: 26 Aug 12 - 08:06 PM

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~    RANT    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I am sick and tired of hearing these right winged bottom feeders
who have no knowledge of American history or much of anything
screaming that they want "their country back"... Fuck!!! They're
handlers have owned this country lock, stock and barrel for the
last 3 decades...
No, we want our country back... You know, the one that had the
balls to build the Interstate Highway System... The one that built
the Hoover Dam and the Tennessee Valley Authority... The one that
brought us Medicare, the Civil Rights Act... The one that believed
that workers had the right to unionize... 100 years ago there were
3 presidential candidates who all were pro-union... Yeah, the that
believed in education and wasn't content to let its house fall down
around itself... The one that respected women... The one that pushed
for Row v. Wade because it was the right thing to do as rich women
were getting their abortions in Mexico and poor women were dieing in
back-room abortion clinics... The country that was into "We"... The one where people looked out for one another...
Yeah, I am sick to death of hearing stupid people who are way down
at the low end of the gene pool lecturing the people who have worked
hard - very hard - to get educated... We don't need those people's
self righteous ignorance... They are all eat up with victim mentalities and want to blame educated people for their misery...
And I'm sick of being bullied by dumb-ass people who wnat me to know that they own a gun and are perfectly willing to shoot me because they
are losers...
Yeah, we may be headed for a civil war... I advise progressives to
call the bottom feeders every time on issues... I advise liberals to
step up and say, "Hey, we're fucking correct and you dumbasses are wrong as wrong can be".. We don't need to be bullied by misfits, morons, uneducated, bigoted people who think we - hahaha - have taken their country away from them...
No, they are too eat up with tattoos, ignorance, lousy thinking skills, hate me-me-me-ism to have a clue that they have taken *our*
country and turned it into something going more toward Somalia than
the "greatest country in the world"...
Fuck 'um... We want *our* country back...
It's no longer Mr. Niceguy... Mr. Niceguy is looked upon as a wuss... I'm changing my tone... Here and elsewhere... I write a lot of letters to various newspapers and I'm turning up the heat... I think that the progressives need to challenge the right on this idea of taking our country back... It's time to shift and say, "No, we want ours back!!!"
Time to quit rolling over and playing nice to idiots...
We need to do it here and we need to do it in our lives...
If I understand you correctly, you're saying that the solution to the problems this country faces, essentially because American conservatism has been taken over by the nastiest and stupidest among its members, is for American liberals to become just as nasty and stupid.
I hope I'm missing something. I don't think that would work.
No, not just as nasty but not wusses either... Calling the bullies ain't becoming bullies... It's standing up to them and saying, "Screw you, I ain't gonna be bullied by you no more"...
Simple... Porgressives and liberals have tried to convince these people that they are wrong by using reason and facts... These people don't do "reason and facts"... They do tin-foil and mythology... What progressives have tried for 30 years obviously ain't working...
Why should we have to apologize for having taken the effort to, ahhhh, get an education??? I'm sick of the stupid putting down educated people...
No, we don't ever have to be as nasty as they are but we need to know when to tell them to fuck off... They are darned good at telling us that...
Natrona County, Wyoming isn't exactly the most liberal of places. This past Tuesday the election there saw the Tea Partyites and those with a "conservative" social agenda (e.g., defense of marriage advocates) tossed out of the race and moderately conservative pragmatists put in the running. Doubt me? Check the Casper newspaper.
This time the election will be decided not on a social agenda, not on quotations spun and censored by the candidates' or officials' designated hitters, but by the 25%+ of the people who think that the whole shootin' match should be tossed out on their collective ear.
And I agree. Vote 'em all out and start over! Term limits, salary and pension limits, the works.
What people are actually feeling when they say "We want our country back!" is...they are longing for a past that has grown rosy in their eyes, the optimistic days of their youth when all things seemed possible, the world looked hopeful, they were young, strong, and full of energy, and adventure beckoned.
Political leaders know this. Demagogues of all types know it. And they play on that emotion in people in a variety of ways in order to get their votes.
The almost universal desire to return to the warmth of an imagined past when things were "okay" is perfectly understandable. But it's not realistic. And it ain't gonna happen. Nobody is going to "get their country back" and have things the way they were before.
But if a politician said that, most people wouldn't vote for him!
And that's a Catch-22.
I'd like a lot of things to be the way they used to be too. Who wouldn't? No political party is going to make that happen. But they will all invoke the dream in various ways, hold out that hope to people, and people will respond. This doesn't make them "bad" people (although it may make them quite unrealistic people) (and it may mean that they unwittingly support some very bad leadership). That was the basic problem in Germany in the 30's. A lot of basically normal people who were very stressed out unwittingly gave their support to some very bad leadership. That's what can happen when people are scared and angry.
The imminent collapse of this economic system in Western countries is sure to bring back things the way they used to be.
I remember well when everybody was poor, we lived in real families, and we had to work hard for the necessities of life.
Then, all but a very few were poor....the aristocrisy who ran things then kept their money secure, they did not use it to turn us all into "consumers"
With consumerism in the sixties and seventies came the start of the breakdown of society. The final result will be obvious very soon.
Any collapse of this economic system is a LOT less imminent than some folks think. The fundamentals of this economic system--produce, exchange, profit, produce some more, etc.--are inherently driven by very fundamental impulses in our makeup. And that is not going away. Barring complete environmental collapse, the basic modalities of production--growing, manufacturing, producing raw materials, energy, and distribution and service categories--are also fundamentally tied to the human equation and those fundamentals are not about to change until, for example, some world-shaking advance in technology puts us on a free-energy footing.
But the political dynamics are not leading to a breakdown of society but a reformation of it, such as occurs every few decades. The fact that information exchange is highly accelerated compared to 1970 does not mean a fundamental collapse. The young who have been raised on laptops and cellphones will still have babies, want to raise them well, and will still be looking for better answers ahead.
SO where do you think this economic collapse is going to arise?
There were some good things and some bad things.
As society implodes I see few positives.....i dont think very many people will be able to handle the hardship ...which is not a wish, but a certainty.
Do you really think that we can live in this fairyland of "quantitative easing" for ever?
You must be mad.
Trouble is, you still think this system can be saved......its gone East, we are on the dark side of the world...we are to lazy, stupid and greedy to be worth saving.
We want everything and contribute nothing....we have been fooled into thinking that "rights and equality2 have some meaning in a capitalist system.
The only meaning they have, is value as a divider of the populace
NOTE: "He targeted soldiers who were in trouble or disillusioned." {said about ringleader}
Prosecutor: Ga. murder case uncovers terror plot
By RUSS BYNUM
Associated Press
LUDOWICI, Ga. (AP) -- Four Army soldiers based in southeast Georgia killed a former comrade and his girlfriend to protect an anarchist militia group they formed that stockpiled assault weapons and plotted a range of anti-government attacks, prosecutors told a judge Monday.
Prosecutors in rural Long County, near the sprawling Army post Fort Stewart, said the militia group composed of active duty and former U.S. military members spent at least $87,000 buying guns and bomb components and was serious enough to kill two people - former soldier Michael Roark and his 17-year-old girlfriend, Tiffany York - by shooting them in the woods last December in order to keep its plans secret.
"This domestic terrorist organization did not simply plan and talk," prosecutor Isabel Pauley told a Superior Court judge. "Prior to the murders in this case, the group took action. Evidence shows the group possessed the knowledge, means and motive to carry out their plans."
One of the Fort Stewart soldiers charged in the case, Army Pfc. Michael Burnett, also gave testimony that backed up many of the assertions made by prosecutors. The 26-year-old soldier pleaded guilty Monday to manslaughter, illegal gang activity and other charges. He made a deal to cooperate with prosecutors in their case against the three other soldiers.
Prosecutors said the group called itself F.E.A.R., short for Forever Enduring Always Ready. Pauley said authorities don't know how many members the militia had.
Burnett, 26, said he knew the group's leaders from serving with them at Fort Stewart. He agreed to testify against fellow soldiers Pvt. Isaac Aguigui, identified by prosecutors as the militia's founder and leader, Sgt. Anthony Peden and Pvt. Christopher Salmon.
All are charged by state authorities with malice murder, felony murder, criminal gang activity, aggravated assault and using a firearm with committing a felony. A hearing for the three soldiers was scheduled Thursday.
Prosecutors say Roark, 19, served with the four defendants in the 4th Brigade Combat Team of the Army's 3rd Infantry Division and became involved with the militia. Pauley said the group believed it had been betrayed by Roark, who left the Army two days before he was killed, and decided the ex-soldier and his girlfriend needed to be silenced.
Burnett testified that on the night of Dec. 4, he and the three other soldiers lured Roark and York to some woods a short distance from the Army post under the guise that they were going target shooting. He said Peden shot Roark's girlfriend in the head while she was trying to get out of her car. Salmon, he said, made Roark get on his knees and shot him twice in the head. Burnett said Aguigui ordered the killings.
"A loose end is the way Isaac put it," Burnett said.
Aguigui's attorney, Daveniya Fisher, did not immediately return a phone call from The Associated Press. Attorneys for Peden and Salmon both declined to comment Monday.
Also charged in the killings is Salmon's wife, Heather Salmon. Her attorney, Charles Nester, did not immediately return a call seeking comment.
Pauley said Aguigui funded the militia using $500,000 in insurance and benefit payments from the death of his pregnant wife a year ago. Aguigui was not charged in his wife's death, but Pauley told the judge her death was "highly suspicious."
She said Aguigui used the money to buy $87,000 worth of semiautomatic assault rifles, other guns and bomb components that were recovered from the accused soldiers' homes and from a storage locker. He also used the insurance payments to buy land for his militia group in Washington state, Pauley said.
In a videotaped interview with military investigators, Pauley said, Aguigui called himself "the nicest cold-blooded murderer you will ever meet." He used the Army to recruit militia members, who wore distinctive tattoos that resemble an anarchy symbol, she said. Prosecutors say they have no idea how many members belong to the group.
"All members of the group were on active-duty or were former members of the military," Pauley said. "He targeted soldiers who were in trouble or disillusioned."
The prosecutor said the militia group had big plans. It plotted to take over Fort Stewart by seizing its ammunition control point and talked of bombing the Forsyth Park fountain in nearby Savannah, she said. In Washington state, she added, the group plotted to bomb a dam and poison the state's apple crop. Ultimately, prosecutors said, the militia's goal was to overthrow the government and assassinate the president.
The Army brought charges against the four accused soldiers in connection with the slayings of Roark and York in March, but has yet to act on them. Fort Stewart spokesman Kevin Larson said he could not comment immediately on the militia accusations that emerged in civilian court Monday.
District Attorney Tom Durden said his office has been sharing information with federal authorities, but no charges have been filed in federal court. Jim Durham, an assistant U.S. attorney for the Southern District of Georgia, would not comment on whether a case is pending.
There is always a good basis out there in real terms for renewing a society. That is, we have the talented people, we have a world full of real possibilities.
The problem with the present situation is primarily a financially-based problem that's been created by about 40 years of fiat money for the world's reserve currency. Fiat money is money that is not officially exchangeable or redeemable for a fixed amount of some real and valuable commodity. Richard Nixon took the US $ off the gold standard in 1971. Before that US dollars had been exchangeable for gold at a set rate of $35 an ounce. Fixed value. Real money. Any nation that was holding US dollars could cash them in for gold at the official set rate of $35 per ounce. Nixon ended that.
The dollar has not been real money since he did that, because it is not pegged to any fixed amount of anything real, and any amount of it can be created as a loan, right out of thin air...by the lending institution. It magically appears (as a bank balance in the form of debt) when you sign the loan agreement. It is fiat money...basically not much different from Monopoly money...not actually worth anything in real terms...unless we all simply pretend it is! And the world has been pretending that it's worth something ever since, because if the world stops pretending it is then the entire Ponzi scheme crashes, the world's reserve currency collapses, and everyone is in deep shit...including all those countries that the USA has paid for real goods with their fiat money.
The rising prices of commodities tells the tale of what has happened to the US dollar since 1971.
Now, fiat money allows the instantaneous creation of new funds all the time in the form of debt...debt that has to be paid off with interest in some unforeseen future. This allows lenders to get rich on the interest and borrowers to run around spending their fiat money and doing all kinds of stuff with it and getting themselves deeper and deeper into debt.
The lenders, banks, get incredibly rich while the entire society builds up absolutely upayable levels of debt by mortgaging its future and its chidren's future and generating more fiat money in interest charges. If an individual acts this way with loans and credit cards, he ends up going bankrupt. The same applies to a society.
And that's what is happening, and it can only end in an allmighty collapse of the entire monetary system, after which something different will have to be started up...a new currency backed by a fixed amount of something REAL. (It doesn't have to be gold, but gold is a pretty simple and effective way of doing it. It could also be silver. Or fresh water. Or barrels of oil. Or something else that's real. Precious metals are about the most compact and convenient way of doing it.)
We don't lack good people, we don't lack good things that can be done, we are simply hobbled by unpayable levels of debt, and the people at the top of the pyramid don't want this game to end. They fear what could happen if it does, so they are stretching it out and trying to delay the dreadful day the bubble finally bursts by doing bank bailouts with even MORE fiat money in the form of further debt. They're giving the drunk another truckload of booze!
You want to blame someone for this? Blame Nixon. ;-) He's the guy who changed the dollar from a piece of paper worth 1/35 of an ounce of gold to a piece of paper worth...ummm...well, really nothing but a promise...or whatever we agreed to pretend it was worth for the time being. When enough people stop pretending it has worth, it collapses. And they will have to stop pretending soon, because to service the present levels of debt in the world is simply not possible. We've been enslaved by the debt.
Money was originally created to serve the people. The people have ended up serving it.
The gold standard (or any other similar) is simply a recipe for recession and depression.
The US economy won't collapse unless the people hoarding the cash want it to, Ake, ol' buddy... And I've given this a lot of thought and can't, for the life of me, see where it would benefit them as they live here... I mean, who is going to take care of their many wants???
You gotta come to Charlotte, NC sometime, Ake, and let me take you to the ghetto where these people live... Miles and miles of houses that cost a minumum or #2.5M... That ain't chump change...
Here's the real deal... If the US consumer ain't got the $$$ to buy the crap that Boss Hog wnats him to buy then guess what... Boss Hog has cut his nose off to spite his face...
And as for America being "broke"... Hahahahaha... What a joke... No, the US government is being starved but we ain't broke... Our upper 5% have a major percentage of the world's wealth... Forget China or Saudi Arabia... Our rich spill that much on the way to the bathroom...
B~
The original post is pretty humorous in its clulessness.
I've found that "liberals" tend to be more accepting of fascism than "conservatives." Conservatives largely want to be left alone, but liberals want to control others. Hence the liberals' support of big government. Fascism stems from insecurity and a desire to control others. Any party that advocates big government is either fascist or on its way to becoming fascist.
Hell Bobert, I'd settle for just getting our jobs back. Of course if Romney gets in then that won't happen.
Rubbish, wrong-un. In general, in modern political terms, what you call "liberals" want to reduce man's inhumanity to man. Conservatives and libertarians are the root cause of it and want to continue and increase it.
"Any party that advocates big government is either fascist or on its way to becoming fascist."
Total bilgewater. If you don't understand that there are alternative economic systems that work for the common good, that's fine but suggesting these are in some way analogous to fascism is nothing short of being thick. It might chime with the misogynistic religious zealots over in the states, but you'll have to work harder than that to convince people who live in a country where the threat and horror of fascism is within living memory. You might even show some respect and use the word properly, but I doubt it; the US right have a remarkable history of misappropriating words for their own nefarious ends.
Watching the US elections here, it's hard not to notice the right-wingers are redefining the word 'socialism' to fit some bizarre concept they either don't understand or are deliberately lying about to scare the gullible and witless. They've already done this with 'liberals' and even one or two of the less bright here in the UK are misusing that term as a pejorative label.
Of course, it's all a little hokey and ham-fisted to keep twisting the meanings of words in this way, but then it's also easy to see through. Thank god.
