Subject: RE: Texas Scottish Festival June 1-3, 2007 From: Uncle Phil Date: 06 Jun 07 - 11:39 PM Och, pay her no mind, lad, she's having you on. The festival was just something to kill time while waiting to engage in our real passion -- lawn care! All kidding aside, the music really was that good, which is why we've all still got a post-festival buzz going. The best session was, of course, the last one, when Brian McNeill kept calling other musicians to the stage as they wandered into the entrance tent after finishing their own sets. The photos where Brian is in a light-colored tee shirt are from that session and might give you a small taste of what it was like. Hope you can make it next year. - Phil |

This is the Lassies Galore (women from various TSF performer groups) photo. |

Subject: RE: Texas Scottish Festival June 1-3, 2007 From: JedMarum Date: 03 Oct 07 - 11:07 AM I have it listed on my calendar as June 06-08, but June 1 is a Sunday, so it's possible they'll do it that weekend. I wrote to the festival folks to confirm. I'll post a note here when I hear back. |
Subject: RE: Texas Scottish Festival June 1-3, 2007 From: Stilly River Sage Date: 24 Nov 07 - 01:17 AM Hey, Jed, you're not checking your email. I sent you some information last week via my UTA email. PM me here if it doesn't turn up in your regular email account. Thanks! The Friends of the UTA Library have a holiday meeting every year, and this year the guest is bagpipe major Don Shannon. He has played in many places around the world; locally we see him with the North Texas Caledonian Pipes & Drums. If you're in the area and interested in attending, it is Friday, Dec. 7 at 7:30. The meetings are free and open to all, and it helps to RSVP because this meeting does sometimes fill up (it's a nice reception and performance). Visit the UTA calendar and advance to Dec. 7 for more information. Maggie |
