I visited for the day on Saturday for the first time. What a lovely little village, and a beautiful day.

It's soooo Devon!

A lovely simple inexpensive festival, with the feeling of the village joining in with food and drink; not only in the pubs but in the Methodist church and the C of E church too. Both pubs had lots going on as well as concerts in both churches. This is a perfect weekend and so far as I could see, running with very few problems and no one complaining to me about anything. Oh someone did mention that the camp sites were full, but that's not a bad thing, it shows the little inexpensive festival is a winner.

We need more festivals like this, small, inexpensive and uncommercialised. So come on folk family (cos that's what we are) if you have a large back garden or a couple of fields, let's go for it. Back to our folk tradition roots.

Well done Pete and John, Long may you reign.
Looking forward to bringing Loxley next year.

xx Sal

Sal - what made it so special for me this year is that it didn't rain! Cheriton Fitzpaine was quite transformed by sunshine and the dancers didn't have to run for cover.

Thanks for the Facebook picture you posted of the concert we sang in at St Matthew's church - it's such a privilege to sing in a venue with such wonderful acoustics that we didn't mind that the sunny weather (and the competition from the Dave Sealey concert) meant that the audience numbered about a dozen at any one time!

Three cheers to Pete and John for putting on another great little festival, and big thanks to Dame Pattie EPNS and Splottie for agreeing to perform in the bijou folk concert at short notice on their night off, and delivering a cracking set! In fact, thanks to all the performers at the bijou concert for a tremendously enjoyable evening. And to all those who contributed to the singaround Derek ran last night after the concert in the Ring of Bells skittle alley.

Kitty

Just got back. 4 hours for 110 miles! M5 & M4 closures.

A great little festival, long may it reign.

Thanks Kitty & Derek for getting us focussed so early on - we've been so busy with other things lately, we arrived without having had a rehearsal for months.

Apologies to any Catter missed.

It was a good little sing and we held a Mudraffle. Naurally a large carton of chocs did the rounds!

A great small festival. Everyone I encountered was very friendly and the weather could hardly have been better for the time of year. I thoroughly enjoyed all the spots I did there and the church is an absolute delight to sing in.

Congratulations to Pete and John.

Mick
