Subject: RE: BS: NFL 2012/13 From: Jack the Sailor Date: 23 Dec 12 - 07:16 PM Giants are getting their Butts handed to them b=but even if they lose can still get in. It think the AFC will be Pats or Broncos or Colts. I guess Titans or Bengals could surprise. Probability in that order. Depending on whether Luck is even better in the playoffs, which he could be. NFC should be a hell of a playoffs. Washington and Seattle and SF with those great young QB's, Packers and FNo matter who plays it should be a good game. This could be the best NFL playoff season ever! |

Wilfork words of wisdom :"I don't know if we were flat or what, but it showed that we weren't ready to go right away," nose tackle Vince Wilfork told Comcast SportsNet New England. "When that happens, we really have to buckle down and play football. I think sometimes we did, sometimes we didn't." |
Subject: RE: BS: NFL 2012/13 From: Jack the Sailor Date: 30 Dec 12 - 11:51 PM Cowboys? Cowboys? Cowboys? Is it time for them to draft a QB in the first round? |
Subject: RE: BS: NFL 2012/13 From: GUEST,gillymor Date: 31 Dec 12 - 12:31 AM Credit the Redskins offense, they kept the Cowboys off the field and their gambling defense didn't give Romo a lot of options. |

Subject: RE: BS: NFL 2012/13 From: Jack the Sailor Date: 06 Jan 13 - 07:24 PM Are the Seahawks the worst possible matchup for the Falcons next week? I'm thinking Packers/Seahawks in the NFC championship. I'm liking a Pats/ Seahawks Superbowl so far. |
Subject: RE: BS: NFL 2012/13 From: Bobert Date: 06 Jan 13 - 08:03 PM I'm disappointed that RGIII didn't ask the coach to come out of the game after he got hurt in the 2nd quarter... Coach wasn't goin' to pull him so it was up to RGIII to step aside and let Cousins, who has won the only two games he has played this season, finish... Immature on RGIII's part... Maybe next year he'll be more "team" oriented... Any way, the Redskins had a good season... B~ |
Subject: RE: BS: NFL 2012/13 From: gnu Date: 06 Jan 13 - 08:23 PM I saw it TOTALLy the opposite way, Bobert. He should have been benched by the offense coach immediately. That was just fuckin stupid on more than one level. I blame the head coach and the offense coach... or offensive coordinater or whatever they call them these days. |
Subject: RE: BS: NFL 2012/13 From: Bobert Date: 06 Jan 13 - 08:53 PM Think about it this way, gn-ze... The Redskins gave up 2 first round draft picks for him and a 2nd... That's the farm... He is the Redskins future... You bench him and you take a talent who no longer has any loyalty to your team... This was RGIII's decision... Not coach's... That's the way it is... No one ever benched Elway... Or Montana... Or Bradey... When you have a franchise QB you just ***don't*** ever bench him... It's in the football bible... Page 1... B~ |
Subject: RE: BS: NFL 2012/13 From: gnu Date: 06 Jan 13 - 09:15 PM Bobert... bullshit. When any player is hurt, he is not doing the team any good and if HE doesn't understand that, he is not a team player. And, any coach that can't explain that to a player or teach him to be a team player ain't a coach and should be BENCHED permanently. AND... who the fuck would let a player go on the field with an injury? That is just wrong. It's a fuckin game! You and I would go on the field with an injury but that should NEVER be OUR call if we have a coach making the decisions... the coach has to do the right thing doesn't he?... right or wrong? |
Subject: RE: BS: NFL 2012/13 From: Bobert Date: 06 Jan 13 - 09:33 PM We'll have to agree to disagree here... Am I disappointed that Cousins didn't get a chance to pull this game out??? Yeah, I am... But this game will make RGIII more mature and stronger and in the big scheme of things will be of more value to the future of the team and RGIII... Benching would have been a crap shoot, at best... B~ |
Subject: RE: BS: NFL 2012/13 From: gnu Date: 06 Jan 13 - 09:58 PM Benching an injured player is not a crap shoot... it is the right thing to do for that player. It's just a game. A player is a fellow human being. So, yeah, I disagree. |
Subject: RE: BS: NFL 2012/13 From: Jack the Sailor Date: 06 Jan 13 - 11:13 PM Robert didn't want to come out but he wasn't playing like he could if healthy. Shanahan should have yanked him, 100% of Cousins is better than 80% of Griffin. I actually think that the more significant injury was that Pro bowl O-lineman who left in the first half. His injury lead to Griffin's re-injury. Bobert I don't think Griffin is the future of your franchise. As fragile as he seems to be and as reckless as he plays, I don't think he will last. If he loses a couple of steps through injury, Cousins is the better QB because he is better in the pocket. But build up O-line and defense a little and your team will be as good as any in the NFC East, even with Cousins. |

I can guarantee I'm hurting right now, give me a chance to win this football game because I guarantee I'm not injured,' " Shanahan said. "That was enough for me." |

Subject: RE: BS: NFL 2012/13 From: Jack the Sailor Date: 10 Jan 13 - 10:30 PM I've found the new rules this year about head to head contact to be a bit tedious. But now I am all for them. The players will adjust. |
Subject: RE: BS: NFL 2012/13 From: Jack the Sailor Date: 12 Jan 13 - 06:25 PM I'd forgotten how good Peyton Manning is. And Trenton Holiday, the littlest guy on the field, so far, is the difference! |
Subject: RE: BS: NFL 2012/13 From: gnu Date: 12 Jan 13 - 06:37 PM AMAZING run back, eh? That call on the TD was bizarre! NO way he could call that... NO way it could be overturned! |

Subject: RE: BS: NFL 2012/13 From: Jack the Sailor Date: 12 Jan 13 - 08:08 PM The beer is good! That is why I misspelled Holliday's name. That and not having ever seen it before. Thank you Coach Fox for reminding me why I am grateful for Rivera! |
Subject: RE: BS: NFL 2012/13 From: Jack the Sailor Date: 12 Jan 13 - 08:32 PM Looking good for New England. If Denver's secondary doesn't play better against Brady, he and Belichick will carve them like a turkey. The way they carved up Houston once already. If the Raven's Offensive staff doesn't call better plays... |

Subject: RE: BS: NFL 2012/13 From: Jack the Sailor Date: 13 Jan 13 - 03:45 AM Good News all NFL.com pundits pick the Pats. Bad news. They all picked the BroncosQ |
Subject: RE: BS: NFL 2012/13 From: gnu Date: 13 Jan 13 - 04:41 AM I was surprised and a little sad about the Broncos/Ravens but it was a great game, a nailbiter fer sure. I was sure Rodgers would have a good game but it looked like he was the Rookie in comparison. I was amazed by the kid's throwing action... hardly cock it and throw a bulllet! And he sure can run but I hope the coach explains to him that he is NOT a back or a receiver and ya just don't finish a run with contact if it can be avoided. Then again, it's a morale boost for the team and for the fans. Still dumb, tho. I made it a point to watch the highlight reel at nfl.com as soon as I got up this AM. It's was worth it just to watch that kid throw the ball... poetry. And Gore? And Crabtree? Wow! Two of the best games this year... so far. |
Subject: RE: BS: NFL 2012/13 From: Jack the Sailor Date: 13 Jan 13 - 04:25 PM The 49ers O-line were the stars of that game IMHO. Colin Kaepernick is the QB for them but the time he was getting and the holes opened up for Gore and him. AWESOME! Should be a heck of an NFC championship! |
