For the information of those members who complain about there never being any one in Chat - I was sat lurking in chat this afternoon and a member who I have NOT met logged in and straight out without posting and without giving me time to say Hi!
This is even more frustrating than not finding any one in !!

Thats because I was posting in the Forum Happy - I was never any goood at Multi tasking !

Well i have looked in a few time's Terry and it has shown 1 or 2 as being there but then when i look there is noone in, other times it shows no one in but there is in fact someone there!! confusing or what!!!!

When I looked the other day it showed 2 but there was no one in. Possibly the 2 were in a private room.

Some might say that if you need to ask, you won't understand the explanation, I won't...

I have had a chance to become better acquainted with many Catters, who I would never had the chance to physically meet. You might even notice in-jokes between some of us in the threads.... :-)

Sometimes a visit to the chatroom turns into really funny and quite wonderful stuff - such as the famous doo-wop session a couple of years ago, with Foolestroupe, Amos, SINSULL, freda underhill, myself and a few others. I must admit I haven't visited much lately. Must do that more!

This little pome popped into my head:

so if you DO go to the chat room,
the best way to let others know you are there is
to re-fresh the perma-thread above the line
and then anyone who is checking the forum threads
will see it in the top of the list.

and if they are inclined to join, will do so.

The point of chat rooms is to chat (obviously) with friends, meet new people and, like an un-virtual meeting place, relax and enjoy. Because most people on Mudcat are here in the first place due to a common interest in music, they are usually fairly like-minded people. We tend to have a lot in common, so it's great to be able to chat with them

i log in every now and then and usually its leadfingers there and he always says hi! or welcome to me...
it's neat to chat LIVE with someone a long distance away from the country in which i live!

The box often says there is someone there when there isn't. I believe that is because someone left the chat room without logging off.

Yesterday, I went into the chat room and there was no one there. However, I stayed for a short time and suddenly another catter came in, then another and another. If you open the door and stay a while, someone will pop in.
