Subject: BS: Ghost writer suggestions? From: Donuel Date: 15 Apr 07 - 08:58 PM I have several abstracts for screen plays I have been constructing. To pitch them correctly I would like to employ literary skills above my own. When I google ghost writer for hire there are hundreds if not thousands of selections. Does anyone have any first hand experience with ghost writer servies, advice or suggestions? |
Subject: RE: BS: Ghost writer suggestions? From: GUEST,Stephen Keeng Date: 15 Apr 07 - 11:34 PM Hell yeah there are writers for hire. Pay them enough and they'll move in, take over your couch and remote control and bang away at the typewriter for ten, maybe fifteen minutes a day. Good luck. You might want to go to Absolutewrite.com and poke around to see if the question has been asked on that forum. I think that's where the above-mentioned writers go to steal their ideas. Watch out for the riff raff and seek out the pros. |
Subject: RE: BS: Ghost writer suggestions? From: Riginslinger Date: 16 Apr 07 - 10:13 AM I saw where one of the Bush twins was coming out with a book. You might look to see who her ghost writer is. |

Subject: RE: BS: Ghost writer suggestions? From: Stilly River Sage Date: 16 Apr 07 - 10:44 AM You might want to focus on people who work on screenplays. That will at least narrow the field a little. And look at the google ad a the bottom of the page. Right now I see this one http://www.ronwatkins.com/. (This isn't an endorsement, just calling your attention to the ad.) SRS |

Subject: RE: BS: Ghost writer suggestions? From: Irish sergeant Date: 16 Apr 07 - 12:09 PM Donuel; Check with writerswrite.com. You can advertise for what you need there but I don't know how much they charge. I would take on the job for you but I'm not well versed in screenplay writing. Don't do anything without reading over any contract thouroughly. I would also advise that you check out the 2007 edition of Wrier's Digest market guide. there is a section that will tell you what the going rate is. Hope this helps, Neil |

Subject: RE: BS: Ghost writer suggestions? From: M.Ted Date: 16 Apr 07 - 01:10 PM You don't want a ghost writer. You want a writing partner. Someone with a similar vision who complements you, and who you in turn, complement. good luck. |
Subject: RE: BS: Ghost writer suggestions? From: Bee Date: 16 Apr 07 - 01:16 PM Donuel, it also depends on how extensive your own part is. An abstract might be anything from a one paragraph 'idea' to a scene by scene description of plot and action. Maybe you'd be better off taking an evening writing class at a nearby uni, and using the experience to have your screenplay/s vetted by the teacher as you go along. |
Subject: RE: BS: Ghost writer suggestions? From: Donuel Date: 16 Apr 07 - 04:19 PM Bee yes I know if you want something done right you gotta spend the time, and if I had my druthers I would prefer a good comedy partner like Amos or Rapaire or many others here. My formula is as simple as blending 2 or 3 themes and punching it up Zuckerman style for a Naked Gun like parody, but to do a serious drama... I don't have the chops. |
