Hi Colin,

Not interested in selling, (practice set,) but if you get many offers of half sets.. please let me know..... (I recently asked for a price just to add drones to my existing practice set.......... expensive!!!)

Mind you I have heard a rumour that somewhere on the Net.. there is a full set for $500.... and if any of you find it... post the URL please.

Alison,

I have a set with drones which is in a state of disrepair (e.g., bellows (?) have a hole) and hasn't been played for a long time. I never would find the energy to repair it or even to start playing. So I don't really need it. I have no idea how useful that would be to you but you could have it for the price of the transport or even (but in a way that would be more expensive) for the price that I send you a tape with lots of songs (5, 10, 20, 30...) I had too many difficulties to transcribe and I pay for the transport.

There's a website for uillean pipers, which would be the perfect place for your advert - though you seem to be doing well enough here. Maybe I'll look up the URL later this week

Sorry Colin......, (are you the colin from Ballygally?).. if you are do what I did (last time I was home).. ring Charles Roberts (Sligo)..... directory enquires should be able to fix you up with a number.... he got me a really good second hand practice set for 250 (pounds... sorry can't do the sign anynmore). At the very least he'll be able to give you addresses of other pipe makers in Ireland. Or phone Na Pi/obairi/ Uilleann, (353) (1) 873 0093,... 15 Henrietta Street, Dublin 1...their magasine used to have people who wanted to sell or exchange pipes.

For anyone who is interested I found a uilleann whistle thingie at Song of the sea

you don't need bag or bellows... you blow it like a whistle but it seems to be a proper chanter... good for practicing fingerings, and you can get it with a drone too, (under $100 US).
