The Folk Music Society of NY is presenting Danny Spooner in concert at the UU Community Church at 35th St, and Park Ave in Manhattan

June 29, 2007 at 7:30 PM - the concert is free to FMSNY members, full-time students 22 and under, all folks 18 and under, and $20 for adults $12/seniors. CDNY members $15.

He is not to be missed.

yup, Danny will be at old songs, and at folk music week at Pinewoods camp in MA. Go to old songs, come to the NYC concert, and then spend a week at Pinewoods with Danny (and others), and you still won't have had enough of him.

FMSNY concert in NYC on 6/29? YES! I'm a member of FMSNY so I go for free. So can you. Just join at the concert.

I had the great pleasure of hearing Danny last year when he came to England, and you will have missed out if you don't hear him when he's somewhere reasonably near you!

I'm pleased to hear that Danny is being hosted by the Folk Music Society of NY. He's worked hard earning a solid reputation in the folk clubs of Australia. He was well received at the 2005 Mystic Sea Music Festival. And he has a good ear for unusual songs, some contemporary and some traditional.

And while you are there, don't forget to check out his new releases,
"Years of Spooner" which includes songs he has been singing from 1965-2005, quite a span for any entertainer, and "Emerging Tradition" with relatively contemporary Australian songs, and of course "The Last Leviathan" of whaling related songs from 2006.
If you check his website, note the track list for "Years" is actually the list for "Tradition" but that should be corrected soon.
And on "Years" be sure to admire the photos (grin grin).
