Does anyone know where this is?
My husband was brought up in Beverley, and he thinks it might be pasture terrace. Where-ever it was it looks bad, what is the rest of Beverley like?
Hope you're all OK.

The link says it is Sheffield. Catcliffe is the village alongside Sheffield Parkway.

The link is to a "slide show" that often goes to "picture #1" regardless of which picture you're looking at when you copy the URL.

It might be well to confirm a picture number within the series, just to be sure all are looking at the same one(?).

Mo, thanks for the link. I had not seen any images of the flooding. It is terrifying. May all involved stay safe.

Good grief. Once I was at the link I clicked on some other stories. One tells about 91 boats in a regatta capsizing due to a sudden squall, spilling 120 children into the sea. (!)

The other is of a dinner party in Belgium where one of the guests helped clear up after the meal and discovered the bodies of the host's wife and son stuffed into the freezer.

Whassa matta wit' you over de pon'? lol

The picture is of the York Road (pasture terrace)in Beverley which runs past the Westwood up to the Racecourse the pub on the corner of this road is the Rose and Crown, just outside the North Bar. Water has subsided, but 17000 homes in Hull and 3000 in th East Riding are badly affected. Someone must have been on the rampage at the BBC because after virtually no coverage in 10 days, they have realised that Hull was as badly affected as other parts of the country but had recevied no publicity.

Ebbie, stuffing the wife's body into the freezer is considered normal behaviour over here -serving them up as the entree is optional at dinner parties.
