Subject: RE: Happy Birthday, alanabit From: alanabit Date: 09 Jul 07 - 09:51 AM Well thanks so much. It was a quiet day with a few friends around in the evening. I shall be in Cornwall over Bank Holiday Weekend with my band. Anyone, who is interested can PM or e-mail me. I will also be on tour with the traditional singer Mike Bosworth as an accompanist - probably in the last week of September/first week of October. It looks like being fun. Today a belated birthday present arrived - two translation jobs, which should just about keep us out of the poor house for the time being. Time for work again. Thank you all for your kind words. |

Subject: RE: Happy Birthday, alanabit From: Big Al Whittle Date: 11 Jul 07 - 06:32 AM Found this on the web... 'Auf der Website des Künstlers des Rummenigge Songs steht ein weiterer Song zum freien Download zur Verfügung.Man findet ihn dort unter For Rude Songs, Play Michael Ballacks Bollocks.' Al, what's a kunstler - not sure I like the sound of that. |
Subject: RE: Happy Birthday, alanabit From: alanabit Date: 11 Jul 07 - 07:04 AM Actually Al, the word in English, which can be used as a rude word for a part of the female anatomy, can be traced back the to German word "Kund". This is still used in some dialects, like my girlfriend's parents' dialect, Kleevse Platt, for instance. It means "bottom". My father told me that the Anglo Saxon word, favoured by Lawrence in Lady Chatterly, actually had a Latin stem. You must not confuse it with the word "Kunde", which simply means "customer". The word "Kunstler" simply means "artist",so the Germans are being very respectful to you - especially seeing as you have the nerve to sing a song about Michael Ballack's Bollocks... |
