Jed Marum will be performing a House Concert at TruBrit's house on Saturday August 11. Pot luck supper first at 6 pm followed by the concert. Some private sleeping space available (beds are all occupied but three couches and two private rooms for sleeping bags or whatever) -- Sinsull has beds also. Hope to see lots of you there.

However, this year is out, I can't be in two places at the same time, sadly. Gnu, if you get that lobster airborne, do send me a copy of the movie file, will you?? I mean, any recordings made *before* it meets a sorry end gliding down past Kendall's liposuction.. ;-)

Just around the corner now. I'm heading to NJ on Wed and the tour starts ... I am not sure we'll have as much without Bente - no twisted ankles in the graveyard ... but we'll give it our best!

I am leaving Portland for Sol's in New York ... so two house concerts in rapid succession! Then back to Texas for a quiet bake in the Dallas sun.

Maybe just for a few days, though ... I should be at the "wrap party" for the PBS film I worked on in Wichita KS area on Friday ... if I can convince Louisa to make the drive with me, we'll be there. I won't turn around and leave her again so soon, if she doesn;t want to make the trip, though.

Plenty of time to rest later ....

Hey, I could come up early and break my neck or do something else entertaining. I hope I can actually pick & sing a bit afterwards this year. At the David Jones house concert, I still had a couple of hours left in me, but Mary made me go to bed. Now all I have to do is try and re-learn songs. I can't wait to hear your music and tales of what you've been up to.

I'm still debating whether I want to stay over or not. Jed said he's leaving Saturday night, which will likely mean a shorter song circle than usual, and no relaxed time for shooting the breeze. The concert ought to be nice though, and I may be wrong about the rest.

It's hard to believe there's only 8 people coming to a house concert by someone so damned good. I figured Tom and Linn wouldn't be there, but I figured more Mudcatters would want to meet and hear Jed. Maybe some folks will come up from the Boston area, or Vermont or someone besides me from New Hampshire might make the trek. Oh well, at least Jed might get gas money to NYC.

Bente, there's still time to book a flight...

In the meantime, I'm going to see if I still know how to play fiddle.

I don't think Charley and I can do this one - we've already got two other places to be that day. There are times when cloning would be useful! And speaking of cloning - would it make sense to ask a Joe clone to add Maine or SINSULL (even tho' the concert is at TRUBRIT's) to the title - some of the semi-regulars may not realize it's in the area (unless they checked the list on their fridge - which I have but hadn't checked recently). Sorry to miss it, but I just don't see how we can fit it in.

Just back. Jed sang for hours - some new material he was trying out on us, some older material from his CDs and then some pure fun sing alongs. Kendall accompanied him on at least one song - Will The Circle Be Unbroken.

Jed is such a pleasure to watch and hear. He has wonderful stories to tell about his songs and the people who sing them. Wonderful stories (he swore they were all true) about perfoming. His guitar picking is amazing. His banjo - well... Especially when it is accompanied by a partial strip tease. Someone else will have to explain.

Deborah and Tom's hospitality made for a perfect evening. A real pleasure.

Kendall, I noticed you had pick problems, but Tami's right.

I made it home fine and slept for 5 hours before somebody turned the lights on. It's too bad we didn't have critical mass for a session, but then Jed never would have left in time.

I love Tom's 'Salad Nicoise'.

Excellent concert. More people would have been good, but it was intimate and cozy. I still need sleep, or I'd write more.

It's nice to read about....since we had Jed here in the DC area several years ago for a house concert, and even for the Getaway... we know what a good performer he is...(and we DID have critical mass and a session).
