I sold ALL my positions over the last 4 weeks. :*)

Now as soon as we can find the basement of this current correction which could go as low as 15%, it will be a good time to buy IBM Texas Instruments and maybe even GM and Ford.

The drop will probably let up next Tuesday.
One reason is the JP MOrgan Bank, Citigroup and others taking a huge hit on sub prime lending losses. We all saw this coming like a train on the Kansas horizon.

Right now trading curbs are in effect after a 349 point drop in the DOW.


I have no tip other than to view the market like pro wrestling.
Its fixed, so watch for the way in which the trillion dollar investors are setting up people to take the hook... then wham they pull the hook and sell big.

3% drop at close of the LSE today, and more expected.
I only have a few loose shares (more tied up in long-term funds), so I didn't bother. But I think you're right.

I'm in for the long haul with mutual funds. What they're worth this week may mean it's a good time to buy more, but overall the hit won't be a problem in 15 years . . .

Me too, Stilly. But I worry about the overall economy. For example, my mortgage is with Countrywide, and they took a fair-sized hit in the profit. We're very, very lucky in that we have enough to pay off the mortgage completely if we had to do so -- druther not, and I'd refinance as soon as I could, because the mortgage interest is one of our biggest IRS deductions.
