Subject: RE: Folk Music in Dorset From: Jim I Date: 27 Jul 07 - 11:14 AM Hmm! I thought I had already posted a thankyou but it seems to have disappeared into cyberspace! So. Thanks again everyone. It looks like Thursday night is the one for me. Jim |
Subject: RE: Folk Music in Dorset From: GUEST,Terry McDonald Date: 27 Jul 07 - 11:11 AM Yup, Sarah, that's me, and it was 41 years ago! Good to hear from you. |
Subject: RE: Folk Music in Dorset From: Saro Date: 27 Jul 07 - 11:05 AM Guest, Terry, you aren't by any chance the same Terry mcDonald who played in a group called (I think) the Biddles, about 35 years back. Apologies if you are very young and wouldn't have been around then! Saro |
Subject: RE: Folk Music in Dorset From: GUEST,Terry McDonald Date: 27 Jul 07 - 05:37 AM PS - there's a mini festival, 'Roger's Rant', in Milborne St Andrew the weekend you arrive! |
Subject: RE: Folk Music in Dorset From: GUEST,Terry McDonald Date: 27 Jul 07 - 05:36 AM There are a couple of excellent websites that can help - type 'Tony and Peter's Folk Diary' or 'Sadfolk' into Google and you'll find out what's on in the area (and a bit beyond) every day. Kitty's right about Wimborne on the Thursday, and a bonus is that the beer's remarkably cheap! |
Subject: RE: Folk Music in Dorset From: GUEST Date: 26 Jul 07 - 07:27 PM Try www.broadsideman.co.uk (my computer won't make the link at the moment, for some reason). Wimborne (at the British Legion) on Thursday might be your best bet. Kitty |
Subject: Folk Music in Dorset From: Jim I Date: 26 Jul 07 - 06:21 PM I will be in Dorset (based in Tolpuddle) from Saturday 28th July to Friday 3rd August. Any singarounds/sessions in central Dorset? I'm not much of a sitting-listening-to-concert-type-venues sort of person, I prefer to be more hands-on/joining-in. |
