Subject: BS: Hmmm??? 200,000 missing guns in Iraq??? From: Bobert Date: 06 Aug 07 - 08:35 PM Now this ain't 'sposed to be yet another Iraqbash thread but, hey, the US DoD can't account fir upwards of 200,000 US supplied guns in Iraq??? The DoD confesses that it didn't keep records of where those guns went??? Excuse me, but if the US doesn't have a clue where the guns went is it possible that at least some of these guns are now being used to either kill Americans or in the secretarian civil war??? This is one reason why "training Iraqis" is a dumbass idea, especially since once they are trained they are also armed... No wonder there is a civil war raging... The US DoD is training and arminf folks to fight in it... This ain't rocket surgery here, folks... This is some messed up thinking in Washington... Very messed up... Bobert |
Subject: RE: BS: Hmmm??? 200,000 missing guns in Iraq??? From: Sorcha Date: 06 Aug 07 - 08:56 PM I read that Bobert...and wondered meself. Oh, yea, hey it's just the US. Lost stuff ain't no big deal. Oh yea? |
Subject: RE: BS: Hmmm??? 200,000 missing guns in Iraq??? From: JohnInKansas Date: 06 Aug 07 - 09:18 PM But hey, Bobert - The headline I saw was "A third of weapons supplied to Iraq can't be accounted for." That means whoever we gave them to still has whoever got them outgunned two to one. It's probably a *P*L*A*N* to make "them" bold and brave enough to come out in the open where "they" can shoot 'em. It seems to be working? (Or it will-have-was-a-plan as soon as somebody in the Administration thinks it up - or invents something even better.) If we only knew which ones are "them" and which ones are "they" it would be a lot easier to come up with good retroactive planning though, I'd think. We may not hear about what the plan "was" until the outcome is a little less ambiguous. John |

Then when they use 'em, it would be the perfect excuse to fry them all in one gigantic armageddon. I wonder if this idea has occurred yet to the guys in charge? |
Subject: RE: BS: Hmmm??? 200,000 missing guns in Iraq??? From: Cluin Date: 06 Aug 07 - 10:50 PM Just wait till the next celebration. They'll be out in the street firing them up in the air as noise makers. Well, all those bullets have to come back down sometime... often enough in somebody's head for them to call a halt to the practice you'd think. |

Subject: RE: BS: Hmmm??? 200,000 missing guns in Iraq??? From: Teribus Date: 07 Aug 07 - 01:06 PM Of the guns that are unaccounted for 110,000 are AK-47 Assault rifles. There exists one AK-47 Assault Rifle for every 60 people on this planet. |
Subject: RE: BS: Hmmm??? 200,000 missing guns in Iraq??? From: GUEST,Russ Date: 07 Aug 07 - 01:22 PM If I recall, the same thing happened in Viet Nam. US Army ended up supplying the other side. Unintentionally of course. Russ (Permanent GUEST) |
Subject: RE: BS: Hmmm??? 200,000 missing guns in Iraq??? From: SINSULL Date: 07 Aug 07 - 01:23 PM Looks to me like someone better invade the US quick for supplying arms to the insurgents and maybe even Al Queda. At about $1000 per Ak-47, someone is making a bit of a profit on this. |
Subject: RE: BS: Hmmm??? 200,000 missing guns in Iraq??? From: kendall Date: 07 Aug 07 - 01:29 PM Why not issue bullets that have been dipped in lard? And, make sure the insurgents know it. |
Subject: RE: BS: Hmmm??? 200,000 missing guns in Iraq??? From: Folkiedave Date: 07 Aug 07 - 02:18 PM So it wasn't Iran supplying the insurgents after all? It was the USA? Invade, invade, invade............... |
Subject: RE: BS: Hmmm??? 200,000 missing guns in Iraq??? From: McGrath of Harlow Date: 07 Aug 07 - 03:12 PM In any insurgency the main source of arms always tends to be the other side. Stands to reason. |
Subject: RE: BS: Hmmm??? 200,000 missing guns in Iraq??? From: GUEST,petr Date: 07 Aug 07 - 07:42 PM its not surprising at all, this exercise has been stupefyingly incompetent from the start. 3months before the invasion- Bush was apparently unaware that Iraq was made up of Sunnis and Shiites 'I thought they were all Muslims'... allowing the looting and destruction of many govt. facilities - including the training centres of the fedayeen - Youd think that you might want to get the names and addresses of the people that will be fighting against you. further - alienate much of the population by disbanding the army - thereby creating a cadre of young, embittered and ARMED men who now cannot feed there families.. and repeat the process by alienating the Sunnis - with the deBaathification policy.. etc. etc. |
Subject: RE: BS: Hmmm??? 200,000 missing guns in Iraq??? From: GUEST,TIA Date: 07 Aug 07 - 10:52 PM And after alienating the Sunnis, send them guns and money 'cause you're afraid of the shiites because they might be too friendly with Iran!!!! These dipshits didn't know their asses from a hole in the ground, and they got to lead the most powerful military on the planet right into a fucking ditch. And there are fools who still defend them. |
Subject: RE: BS: Hmmm??? 200,000 missing guns in Iraq??? From: Peace Date: 07 Aug 07 - 10:57 PM "Small arms have been the weapons of choice in 47 of the 49 largest conflicts since 1992. Victim counts range widely. The reputable International Physicians for the Prevention of Nuclear War, a non-profit group of medical organizations representing more than 60 countries, puts the number at 6 million and estimates that half of the victims were killed directly by small arms." |
