Subject: Have you heard Rodrego y Gabriela? From: Margo Date: 22 Sep 07 - 02:49 PM Rodrego y Gabriela are two Mexicans who are heavily influenced by heavy metal rock but they play acoustic guitars in their own style. There are elements of Spanish music in their playing, but what they do doesn't fit into any one category. You can see some of their performances on you tube. I am SO impressed by Gabriela's rhythm guitar. I want to learn that! There are some "guitar tips" clips on you tube too. I think they are hot! Margo |

Subject: RE: Have you heard Rodrego y Gabriela? From: Bee-dubya-ell Date: 22 Sep 07 - 05:13 PM Rodrigo is an excellent and dynamic lead guitarist, but he's not unique. I know several guitarists who could handle his leads if they felt inclined toward his style. Gabriela, on the other hand, is something else. I've never even seen anyone play guitar like her. The term "rhythm guitar" as it's usually understood is totally inadequate to describe her function. |
Subject: RE: Have you heard Rodrego y Gabriela? From: GUEST,Chris Murray Date: 23 Sep 07 - 11:28 AM They were the first act on the Sunday at the 2006 CFF. They created a sensation. Within a few minutes, everyone abandoned their Observers and was dancing. |
