This is the text to Scotland Yet by Andy Stewart, the melody is traditional. Andy, The Alexanderbrothers and Alexnder Morriston has sung it. I prefer Andy's version, adn i actually think this is probably the best Scottish song there is.

I'll raise my heart and voice once more,
And sing another song.
And litit sound,
And i resound,
So brave and free and strong.
And ever as I sing, my lads,
the fought of it shall be,
Old Scotland's house,
And Scotlands knows,
And Scotlands hills for me!
I'll drink a cup to Scotland yet,
We a' aw the hounors three.

The other lands are fair and fine,
Old Scotland is my choice,
No land on earth,
Like that of there,
Can thrill my heart and voice!
A for well i loue this land my lands,
That's gathered by tha sea,
Old scotlands dales,
And scotlands meils (??) (Maybe WHALES? Don't know really.)
And scotlands hills for me!
I'll drink a cup to Scotland yet,
We a' aw the hounors three.

The Thistle is tha badge we wear,
Oor flag are blue and white,
The song to freedom, do we bare,
Are causes for the right.
Then here's the badge and here's the flag,
That ever mine shall be.
Then scotland's right,
And scotlnad's might,
And scotlands hills for me!
I'll drink a cup to Scotland yet,
We a' aw the hounors three.

Old scotland's right,
And scotlnad's might,
And scotlands hills for me!
I'll drink a cup to Scotland yet,
We a' aw the hounors three.

Oh?
In the cd "20 scottish favourites" it says that it is written by Traditional/Stewart , which often menas that the music is traditional but the text isn't.
Thank tou for the link.

Jack, looks to me as though the words of the one you linked to are a bit different than the one posted above, unless I am missing something?

Here is the text from the broadside at the National Library of Scotland web site. The "probable period of publication" is 1860-1890.

SCOTLAND YET

Gae bring my guid auld harp ance mair,
Gae bring it free and fast,
For I maun sing anither sang
E'er a'my glee be past;
And trow ye, as I sing, my lads
The burden o't shall be—
Auld Scotland's howes, and Scotland's knowes
And Scotland's hills for me;
I'll drink a cup to Scotland yet,
Wi' a' the honours three!

The heath waves wild upon her hills,
And foaming through her fells,
Her fountains sing o' freedom still,
As they dash down the dells!
And weel I lo'e the land, my lads,
That's girded by the sea,
Then Scotland's vales, and Scotland's dales,
And Scotland's hills for me,
I'll drink a cup to Scotland yet,
Wi' a' the honours three!

The thistle wags upon the fields
Where Wallace bore his blade,
That gave her foeman's dearest blude,
To dye her auld grey plaid;
And looking to the lift, my lads,
He sang this doughty glee—
Auld Scotland's rights, and Scotland's mights,
And Scotland's hills for me,
I'll drink a cup to Scotland yet,
Wi' a' the honours three.

They tell o' lands wi' brichter skies,
Where freedom's voice ne'er rang,
Gie me the land where Ossian dwelt,
And Coila's minstrel sang-
For I've nae skill o' lands, my lads
That kenna to be free—
Then Scotland's vales, and Scotland's dales,
And Scotland's hills for me,
I'll drink a cup to Scotland yet,
Wi' a' the honours three.
