I am at Chance and Suzettes, we are going out to eat, the "confusion" arose from the fact that They had to Work!! and I was swanning around the DC with a very nice lady, before being delivered here. Having been hugged within an inch of my life at the Getaway, I will try and write more later but the Late nights and "another Port" and things have left me a bit.....errrm.... parson?

I am in the General Store in Harrisville NH using there WiFi internet connection as Animaterras house is at the moment "internet free" The plan is that Alison will drive me to Portsmouth tomorrow (Friday) so I can be at the Press Room and after that I am not sure, I would like to spend aday or 2 with Tom Nad Linn before catching the Downeaster from Dover to Portland, I understan I maybe playing on a Pub Quiz team on Tuesday(subject to confirmation) and after that No plans until Sunday 18.05 Flight from Logan Home

The good news is that -- as of yesterday -- we can actually get INTO the guest room (where you will be staying) so I can promise clean sheets, at least. The rest of the house is a disaster, but I'm sure you'll cope.

I thought the New England Center (Acorns) was closed on Monday (the only early week evening I'm not working), but it's open and we can have dinner then. But Flag Hill Winery, alas, doesn't open their tasting room until Wednesday. I've been looking forward to tasting their recent addition -- apple brandy.

Even if I can't play because Jason hates me (sniff, sniff), I can cheer. (And sit in the punter section and mutter about how I knew a furlong was an eighth of a mile and I knew what purpose a chalaza serves.

I will be at the Press Room as Tom's chauffeur (do I have to wear the outfit and open the doors and all that crap?), and then there will be wine and food and perhaps some sightseeing/peef leaping or stuff. Plus Tom tells me Acorns have blue-cheese crusted fillet Mignon again.

Your hard working Gnome has arrived in Portsmouth NH as per spec and is ensconced in the Public Library. After a wonderful time at TamLin in Keene NH I have made it for the Press Room. Morty I dont think SatNav would help as I have been lost 3 times in 4 trips thanks to it!!! maybe a Radio Location Beacon would be better that would,at least give my present position!! which is Parrott ave, Portsmouth, but then you knew that!!!

After an amazing session at The Press room that included some Dutch folkies (including the Shanty singer that Johnny Collins used to stay with in Holland!!) I am back Chez Linn and Tom and about to join a Lying-down workshop. The hospitality and friendship here in our Mudcat community is amazing !!!, First Chance and Suzette in DC, then those wonderful FSGW folks at West River (and a special mention to Nancy King for her help getting back to Silver Spring), then Allison and Hunt in Nelson NH and now Here in Nottingham NH, it has been a kaleidoscope of lovely people and warmth, every now an then some startling thing prompts a memory.....( I have the pictures,they may have to wit till I get home to appear)
The Duet of a Ukelele and French Horn(I kid you not)
Fall colours near Tolman Pond (I am now a "Leaf peeper")
The singing of Barry Finn all weekend and tonight.
Magic all of them
the plan from here seems to be (maybe) wine tasting tomorrow?
Acorns Monday evening, (Don't know if Mary is making the trip to join us)
Train from Portsmouth to Portland Tuesday (probably arrive Marys afternoon) to join Quiz team in the evening.
After that it goes a bit fuzzy

We went Wine tasting today!!!! and had a nice meal with Wine and some very nice Cheddar!! the Local liquor store managed to supply some LBV Port (1998 Warres) that is****Very nice*** and nicely mellowed I am off to bed, I miss TamLin too, Allison and give my best hugs to Maggie I am sorry to have missed her this time, And Happy birthday for last Friday to Dylan

We are the walking wounded this weekend too -- had a dinner party scheduled for yesterday and Tom woke up saying we would have to cancel. Why, I said - I'm fine. Yes, he said, but I'm not. Oh don't be silly I said -- you'll be fine. He got up and took his temperature - a rousing 103....! We canceled!..If you all go down to the Press Room on Saturday -- let me know. Lovely wine tasting at Flag Hill...then off to Calef's for cheese. Great dinner tonight (Micca, Jeri, Tom and I -- Tom doing the cooking, of course) -- Tom made saltembaca and then we worked through cheese, wine, port, single malt.

I REALLY have to go to bed. I have to work tomorrow (had to work today) before we have a last dinner at Acorns tomorrow evening.

Here I am , Basking in good food and wine and a truly remarkable single malt Bunnabhain Darach=ur!!!! soft mellow and smooooooooth, and that was just me after drinking it,,, very nice!! Morty (where-ever you are) the Port was fairly special too,Actually Idris might like the Malt also it was not unlike good Ledaig!!

Replete with good food ,wine and splendid company, I have returned to Nottingham, from the annual NH-Uk Friendship meeting at Acorns UNH, the Menu was pear salad, Filet Mignon and Creme Brulee the wines were a positive LAKE of dry sack sherry, a Californian Cb.Sauv and Grand Marnier and coffee. The company was 'Mudge and Linn and Jeri and the whole thing was "chust sublime" to quote Para Handy, for some reason I feel a bit tired and emotional and am going to lie down
