The Annual dinner at the UofNH Conference Centre went off very well also, the Food,was, as ever, Incredibly goodas was the wine. The most delicious Beef and mushrooms and FRESH vegatables, and Baked Alaska dessert the usual crew of Self, Tom , Linn, Jeri and Sinsull had an excellent meal, may thanks to my companions for the sucessful 4th Annual, British-Press room Dinner

An excellent meal and a new recruit for the Press room. Our waitress is an English Major who enjoys serving and folk music. She went away with a plethora of business cards and a Gordon Bok CD. Hope Micca gave her a tip as well.
Thank you, Micca. The meal was wonderful Sorry I couldn't finish my dessert - I didn't expect Chocolate Cake for Three.
The wine tasting was memorable but I am sorry I missed out on the single malt marathon the night before.
Micca is tucked away in the pink paradise upstairs awaiting the arrival of Tami and another adventure - this time with Allison.
I am off to work and sanity.

Micca and Tami have been and gone and left me with the happy glow that only such incendiary devices can achieve! They got hopelessly lost, in Keene of all places, but came staggering in eventually, whence we picked up our conversation where we left off in London 2 years ago!

They are wending their way back to the coast in the darkness, but sheer Micca-ness will light the way home.

And I must say I was delighted to finally get to meet ranger1!

I will deal with these slanderous allegations in the order they are posted
1 The directions were printed out before we left and included at least one non existant street in Keene in their final stages

2 there were NO illuminated house numbers or mail boxes in the street when we found it but there was a note on the door directing us.
3 I am NOT pre-programmed not to ask the way, I frequently do(for further evidence ask my spiritual adviser, they will tell you I am always asking for directions)
4 We arrived back in Portland at about 1 am and decided it would be kinder not to wake Mary as we know she has an early start. BTW the arrangement was we would call if we were NOT coming back that evening,
5 We were delayed by the same problem that Mary and I had making the same journey before by the confusing signage near Concord NH which ended with us heading North towards Laconia instead of East to Portsmouth.
6 Why do I seem to spend an inordinate amount of time on my visits to the USA wandering around in the dark in the back areas of New Hampshire?
7 and my final comment is ".......and the Horse......"

They seem to be adhering to walls, inserting themselves in assorted scenes and in general making a nuisance of themselves. Bernadette of Lourdes is particularly upset at the one sneaking a peek up the Virgin's skirt.

I am having a quiet morning looking at the rain (theres this guy building a boat and some guys herding animals out back.....) before popping up to TJ Hookers for breakfast (Liz, They make Bacon Butties with REAL crispy bacon) and maybe a perusal of a few shops with Jacqui later.....

Isn't it wonderful to trust your friends so completely that you can fall sleep in front of them. The first time I visited Kendall and Jacqui's new home, I closed my eyes for a few seconds and fell sound asleep on their couch. I think they were flattered.

I could get used to this. Micca is in the kitchen slaving over a hot stove and filling the house with wonderful smells while I sit at the computer with a glass of chilled wine and play Poker.

He does get emotional over chicken. Shouts of despair when he thought I didn't have butter or oil (I have both) in which to saute the onions.

Peel me a grape, will you, Micca.
Actually I think he has grapes for dessert. No wonder Deborah loves Tom.
