I'm usually outside, hustling the last of the butternut squash, eggplant, beets and covering the spinach, hoping it'll hang on until Thanksgiving. As you know, I rarely go to this machine as it steals my time and I'm really, really flattered at your sweet comments today. This place Bob chose is so much work that I nearly forgot it was "my" day (and yours, too, Rita!!!) When I went out to make tea I found a vase of fall mums with a handwritten card from Bob and decorated by painstakingly cut out little petals from the mums, mimicking the flowers themselves! Wow! What a tedious cutting job he went through while I snoozed away early last night! See? He has a soft side, usually after a day of juggling all his projects, when he just gives up and plops to relax. We trundled down the ridge and cut up a dead locust for firewood and I hauled it to the tractor so my boy will have a fire while he's here. When you live back in a "hollar" there's no IHop for breakfast so we trundled down to the Hawksbill Diner for our usual fare and then returned to keep on "hoeing" out the house in preparation for my youngest son and his family who will arrive for T'giving. 8 months outside, fighting the drought, deer, bear, RACOONS, etc. and putting up the crops for winter brought us inside to discover our horror at how bad the house was let go!!! By tomorrow I can begin to actually deep clean and dust and scrub and then start the magical feast preparation. I hope you all have a peaceful and luscious day Thursday. I value your friendship for my dear, passionate mate. He starts every day checking on his "friends" before he makes his first call or heads out to work. Bless you all. I wish you health and peace.
