When house prices plummet, like everywhere else, I suppose.

Mi na meala - the month of honey - the first lunar month after a wedding

It was traditional for couples to spend a month together drinking honeyed wine in seclusion.

It was hoped that, after a month had passed, (especially in the case of an elopement) the bride would have become pregnant and any family opposition would have passed.

Sounds good to me !

Amos I've always heard it was when (Peter went to Dublin) but thought there might be another reason

I had one of those.... can't in all honesty say I'd recommend it unless you like guinness and melodeons.

I like Guinness and melodeons - not necessarily in the same glass :)

You don't like to drown in melody?

There was someone I'd have like to have drowned....

I suspect that had I been with Sean Connery or Hugh Jackman, I might not have noticed the uneven balance of melodeons to cuddles... I knew I should have waited for them.

I thought was asking about the old joke, "what do you call an Irish Honeymoon?" Answer - a second date

It was supposed to be funny and a reference to irish Catholic girl's opposition to premarital sex and/or birth control.

I never found it terribly amusing
