Subject: BS: Anyone old enough to remember me!
From: Iarf
Date: 31 Dec 07 - 05:52 PM

I have just drank (drunk, drinked, drinkted) a really good bottle of Chablis. It's new years eve and I am celebrating quietly as always.

I once came onto this site as a complete arshole and it seems nothing has changed. (I am still an arsehole) The site however seems to have changed. It seems more aware, sophisticated and fun.
I have also been Spot the Dog and in this guise wasn't a complete arsehole but didn't like having a personae.

I left to become my real self (Dave Wynn, casual folk singer and all round good guy) but didn't sign on as myself for some reason that escapes me now!

The question is: Does anyone remember IARF,? Why was I a pillock then ?, why don't I like a psudonym ? (sp) and why am I able to remember my original password for IARF after over four years.

The real question seems to be why do I need answers from other people. Why do I ask for acceptance, How can I remember a password from aeons (SP) ago and why is this important to me in the back end of 2007.

Answers on blank cheques to Dave Wynn, Bank of Glenlivet, Scotland.

IARF, Spot the Dog and Dave Wynn.

Happy New Year.

I remember Spot the Dog! I never "spotted" that Spot was IARF, I don't think; if I did I don't remember that!

Welcome anyhow, and Happy New year.

Rules are only one membership per person, so you may need to contact Joe Offer to inactivate the old ones after you check to see if they have any PMs you haven't seen. He can set you right on passwords, etc.

Ooops,

Thanks WYSIWYG. I didn't intend to break any more rules. I broke too many in the past.

Joe, I would be happy for you to delete both IARF and Spot The Dog. If I need to I would prefer to be Dave Wynn. My name on both profiles is Dave Wynn as you can see. No deception intended.

Dave Wynn

Amos, Alice,
I just re-read my original postings. Don't do it. I was (am , maybe) a tosser. The Chablis (now unfortnately into the second bottle and time I stopped as good Chablis shouldn't be quaffed) was talking. It should not be missed however that even to a complete nitwit as I was that there are people here on the 'cat who are good people.

The change of the year seems to have awoken in me some kind of appreciation of others. Perhaps alcohol induced, but non the less sincere.

Mudcat is essentialy good. I wasn't. Maybe I am now.

1. I promise to give up smoking (I haven't smoked for 3 weeks so this is perhaps an IARF lurk for sympathy.)
2. I promise not to hurt or through inaction allow others to be hurt.
3. I promise not to play the bhohddhranhran loudly or through inaction allow anyone to play it loudly in a session.
4. I promise never to drink two bottles of Chablis (one of which was Premier Cru) and post to Mudcat.
5. I promise that this is the last post I ever make as IARF to Mudcat. (this can be assisted by Joe removing IARF username)
6. I promise I will never be , or allow myself to be, president of the USA or Prime Minister of the U.K. or in any way to be considered for either of these two posts.

I have 68 other resolutions which would probably bore any reader, two of which would cause Glenlivet distillery to go into recievership. (i before e ecept after c? (SP) )

IARF.

Happy New Year.

So Iarf, you are saying that in the past you treated us rather chablis? Okay that's my bad joke for the day.

We've already done New Years here in Oz. I even got over the hangover with lots of water and some panadol, and I'm starting to feel half human again.

As for w(h)ine - myself I prefer a good chardonnay or a nice full bodied red - naturally since I'm somewhat full bodied myself. Had a bit of everything last night - hence the hangover.

Oh, Jenny, is this how you're starting the new year, with a pun as rancid as that? (Good girl!)

I remember Spot the Dog. I don't remember your reputation, but if you come in under your regular name I suspect you'll have an easier time avoiding the nonsense that sometimes overwhelms Mudcatters. It just works that way.

I can Spot the Dog. I don't immediately recall you being an arsehole in particular but I never forget a fellow Hranner. But, don't mention that too often as many won't forget and forgive a Hranner.

I remember Spot the Dog! I don't recall you being in Scotland; didn't we meet at a Mudcat Gathering at the Jug? You certainly weren't an arsehole then.

Welcome back!

Best wishes,

John

Ahh, John , I did go to the Jug gather once. I am currently in Salford but move to my new home in Galloway on Jan 5th. I am already there in my head if you know what I mean. I am having difficulty with the language but the people up there seem to treat me very nicely as a benign idiot. How very perceptive of them.

So this is what sobriety feels like. It's all very surreal. (I must have a drink :-)

Take no notice. He is still an arsehole. Nobody talk to him. No-one go to visit him.

Me and Mrs P can spend more weekends with him in Scotland if there is no-one else there...;-)

Just get that that cafe congnac ready for me and your Mrs, Iarf! Sort some walks out on Hadrians Wall while you are at it.

MIcca!! Dave !!

My two mates. OK The only two mates I have !!. Micca, Galloway is perfect for you. It is cool, handsome and women love it. Just like you.!!. Come up and see us when you can.

I will sign on Mudcat as me when (if) Joe O deletes Iarf and send you a PM from Dave Wynn with my phone and email address. Do come up one weekend and have a year or so with us.

Dave P. If you don't turn up on Sat 5th Jan to help us move you will be visited with a plague of hangovers from hell, boils, tooth abcess's and so many poxes you will look like an extra from Dr Who. Your good wife however is exempt from this curse as she is a real lady.

It's a problem but drugs, guns and general crime is very rare in Galloway. I have already had to put my name on a waiting list just to be mugged. Some things I will miss like police sirens and hoodies.

See you both soon I hope.

Dave W

Galloway is a wonderful area, I'm sure you'll be very happy there...but won't you miss the wonderful ales in Crescent?

All you need to do now is to arrange a Mudgather - we'll come!

I'm afraid I don't know Bobert - other than seeing some of his / her postings.

Yes, IARF, I remember when you arrived as "I Am Really Famous...and bollocks to you lot!" ;-) And someone quipped, "Oh, look! Michael Jackson is posting here..."

Well, a lot of water has gone down the river since then, a few people have moved on to the Great Beyond, others have simply moved on in the more mundane sense of not posting here anymore, and the rest of us are doing whatever we're doing.

I don't have answers to any of your questions, but I hope you have a good year. ;-)

"in the past you treated us rather chablis? Okay that's my bad joke for the day. As for w(h)ine - myself I prefer a good chardonnay ........."

Good chardonnay is exactly what Chablis is. But I can understand why that would not be easily recognised by "modern" or "new world" chardonnay drinkers.

The sickly stuff grown in unsuitable places like Chile, Australia etc that has pervaded the world's supermarket shelves should please never be confused with good chardonnay.

On topic, I remember you, Dave Wynn - from Swinton, where I enjoyed your singing and guitar.

I seem to recall us parting on bad terms Mr.Spot. but F*** that, all the best from Charlie S.
We moved to Dunfermkine last year and once we get our flat back (in-laws with us during their house conversion)life will be even finer. Good luck.

Dave

After all of the crap you perpetuated in the past, I'm shocked you would have the nerve to show up here, all humble and contrite and drunk on Chablis. You were responsible for numerous traumatic affronts and at least one suicide attempt. Several very worthwhile threads in which gentle people spoke humbly of tenderness, angels, and domesticated animals, were left in smoking ruins due to your tendency toward foul language, blasphemy, slander and threats of violence. Apparently you have forgotten your vow to "see all of you in Hell" and, under the civilizing influence of the wine, are ready to make nice. Well, forget it! Most of us were happy to see the back of you then, and are saddened, to say the least, to see your shambling hulk darkening the door of what might have been a Happy New Year!

Actually, I don't remember you at all, but thanks for giving me the opportunity to vent. Yeah, I feel much better now.

I'm so old I remember Frank Ifield. I remember Spot the Dog, but not with any clarity.....this happens when one is very old, you lose the fine adjustment.

Give us a clue, what was the most memorable thing you ever said.....?

Can I be the first 'catter to welcome you to your new existance! ;~)
