When I became friends with an American couple about 10 years ago living here in Oz for a while I was sure that they said that Mother's Day wasn't in May in the You-Ess-of-Ay. It's Mudder's Day here in Oz today (i.e. Sunday morning here already), so now I'm getting confused.

I can't resist sharing this little gem I saw on the back of a Mad Magazine about eight years ago.

M is for the Massive Guilt she gave me.
O is for the Outbursts that she had.
T is for the Total domination.
H is How she drove out dear old Dad.
E is for the Eunuch that she made me.
R is is my Respect she stripped away.

Put them all together, they spell "MOTHER" -- the reason I'm so @*&#ed up today.

Mathew! I KNEW there had to be a few other MADminds here at the Mudder! Although, I have to say I don't much like it since Bill Gaines died. The tone really went downhill. I didn't think I'd ever NOT buy each and every issue when they came out and my kids felt the same way. Now, none of us buy it anymore. I do still have all of mine from the 1960's on through the 80's, though they are a little worn from me and the kids! My brother used to have the very first originals that they stopped printing and then came back with a "cleaner" version, but he lost them somewhere along the line of his lfe.

Thanks for bringing it to mind. Bill Gaines....another brilliant mind gone.

Thaks mudjack and all. I loved the poem Mathew and I'm sure my kids would love it too!! Hug a mom everyday they need it more than most. Best wishes to moms everywhere, sorry we're late for some parts but the sentiment is the same.
